Bisexuality is not strictly half-heterosexuality and half-homosexuality. While a bisexually oriented person is attracted to both sexes, they have a slight preference, no matter how slim, to one of them. I felt that the poll would be too ridiculously split if I included bisexuality, even more-so than it is now with the 8 options.

So? Bisexuality is still a very real thing and its different from strict hetro/homo even with a slight preference. Its just narrow minded to dismiss bisexuality like that. The poll being "ridiculously split" is your own fault. If you really wanted to see if sex and sexual orientation affected anything, then you aren't getting accurate results by omitting one out of convenience.

I might be wrong but isnt the poll already full? And maybe that's why he had to leave it out in favor of something else

I don't really mind, as long as they're not against me playing games. My girlfriend isn't much of a gamer, she plays sims 2 at hers and sometimes some other games with me. I spose it would be quite cool if she was realyl into games like me.

I have to mention that it's been confirmed multiple times that a good portion of people on the escapist are in an experimental age range and more say they are bisexual than they actually are. There would be too many options on the poll in it's current format, but people will poke holes in it even if it included bisexual (what, no non-sexual!?!?!). I think perhaps the OP should've put something like:

Pick your most desired relationship format for this question:
Yes (Male /w female companion)
No (Male /w female companion)
Yes (Female /w male companion)
No (Female /w male companion)
Yes (Male /w male companion)
No (Male /w male companion)
Yes (Female /w female companion)
No (Female /w female companion)

Or something like that, to include all options you'd prolly get a wide spread of results you wouldn't be able to see that many trends.

All I would need in a partner, in these terms at least, would be acceptance of my own status as a gamer. I'm not going to not have a meaningful relationship with someone just because they don't know what System Shock is.

Yes, but only because I'm finally dating a gamer and it's nice to have that hobby in common with someone else. I'm sure I could get along fine with a non-gamer, as long as they had other nerdy qualities.
