I think it's natural for the tongue to rest at a higher level in the mouth. Mainly because if you were to force your tongue to rest at the bottom of your mouth - you'll notice it will 'bend' near the middle. It does not fit. So it's 100% natural for the tongue to rest at the top of the mouth, giving it enough room to rest comfortably.

Good thread OP.

Normally bottom. But that's just due to gravity. How do I know this? I tried saying the same thing with my head upside down and it went top. I tried saying it again with my face parallel to the ground and it went middle.

Behold the scientific method ~("~)

I... err, what? So, when your mouth is closed... where is your tongue? Mine is at the bottom... just lying around.

Nothing anyone does ever is unique on the internet, For example, if im playing a game on my pc, ill also sometimes play music, while still having my tv on in the background, even though ive got music, rooms feels empty without the tv on.

Weird maybe, but i bet theres atleast one other person on this site alone that does it too.
Okay, the freaky thing about that is that I actually do that too. I usually mute my tv so I just have the image showing and then I put on my headphones and go on the internet. Granted I waste energy (carbon footprint and all that) but if the tv isn't on I feel like the room is too big and too quiet.

So, your point is proven there! :)

I also sometimes like to put on a silly bubblegum pop song, mute the tv on a serious documentery, and see how many of the lines it looks like their singing xD

Naaaah you don't. You just need to film that so I can see.
Other than that, hobbies are for chumps!

Mine just kind of floats in the center, not to give gravity the middle finger, but because my teeth seem to have knives glued to the back of them.

Huh, I don't know why I've never noticed this, I never would have thought my tongue rests on the roof of my mouth. How strange.

Would seem High is the norm. Still interesting that some are low, some are middle and others don't know =3. It's like left and right handed, most are right handed but a good portion is left handed. I use my left hand and my tounge rests in the roof of my mouth! =3
Wooooaaaaw, we're linking the position of the tongue to whether you're right or left handed?

K, I'm bored anyway.

I'm a lefty too (alas an unfortunate trampoline/concrete floor accident when I was a kid made me go left). My tongue rests in the middle and only goes up at the very end.

No, I didn't mean that where your tounge is has something to do with you being left or right handed =3. I mean it's like that cause the majority place their tounge in the roof of their mouth, while some others dont. Like most are right handed but some are left handed =3. I'm left handed and my tounge rests high^^.

You sure you wanna throw away this excellent opportunity of doing research concerning the possible connection between a person's preferred hand and where the tongue rests in his/her mouth?

Fine by me, but don't blame when someone else uses it as a research paper and get's paid a big bag of money for it.
