Dogs. They may take a little more effort, but the whole 'perpetually a puppy' thing appeals to me. Growing up just seems so dull!

Love and have both.
Cats are self sufficient but also cold, like a girl who is after your money or in this case milk, all cute and snugly when they want something after that they wouldn't mind if you drop dead.
Dogs on the other hand are very clingy, like a little child that just wants to do and share everything with you, it is very sweet but also problematic because they are so attached, my dog will stop eating if I'm gone for a couple of days.

Well, have a slight personal preference towards dogs. The problem I've had with cats is that many of the cats I've met tend to only bond with a few people, so I can never get close to them. That and I don't feel like dealing with litter boxes.

I'd hate to have a cat cause they're too small to play rough with. My two dogs are the pride and joy of my life.
The only thing high maintenance about my dogs though is the black one needs to be walked 5 km everyday, Or he'll tear my yard my up. Can't do with the white one cause he can only go half a km before he's outta puff. He also tries to fight everything he sees.

Prefer cats myself but both species are loveable hard work!

I think what we can agree on is that those who abuse cats/dogs are real monsters.

Hahaha! That's it, man. Cats/dogs have so much character.

I much prefer cats over dogs, any day.
Especially small, yappy dogs.
Big dogs, I can handle. But the small ones are little nightmares >.>
God I hate little yappy dogs, they're so useless!
I don't mind big dogs, because they're alot of fun to play with, and they actually have a purpose.
But all small dogs suffer from small penis syndrome, and have to be extra loud and stupid to compensate for their lack of worth.

Gimme a giant ball of cats anyday.

I like low maintenance so cats for sure. Its not that I have anything in particular against dogs...well I do, I like quiet and dogs aren't quiet. You know, its a "well, that dog is fun. Take it home with you please." situation.

Dogs, cats just use you for food then go out and get run over.

But this is the internet so i'm not surprised there is 2x more cat lovers.

I love cats.
Dogs usually hate me, although the only ones to ever agree with my existence are...
Yorkshire Terriers:

And Jack Russels (Ex Girlfriend had one one that was terrified by me for a month, then grew to love me. Extremely adorable, I became a very happy teenage weirdo.)

I prefer cat since I'm more of a indoor person. Well I probably wouldn't mind taking a dog for a walk but dog need more outdoor then a cat does.
