I like the idea of digital distribution, however it's not without its flaws.

For one thing, if it comes to consoles we'll get cheaper software but more expensive hardware, simply to accommodate the increased strain on the console by housing the entire game within its memory rather than interacting with a disc. PC gamers already know this hassle with minimum system requirements etc.

So, if it can be economically feasible I'm all for it, if not, hard copies aren't that tricky to deal with.

I liked boxed better because it's an actual hard copy of it. I just like it better...

I doubt you would see cheaper software (games) too.
No shipping costs, no physical manufacturing costs. No box artwork, no retail tax, no splitting sales with retailers, it'd dramatically reduce the cost per game.

At least I think so anyway.

Provided I can get it on Steam, I will buy it on Steam. Its partially the economy of steam specials and sales but also the ergonomics of not having to have game boxes cluttering up the place, or having to find and physically put a disc in the drive to play the game, or having to check for patches... there are many advantages to steam.

Mixed.

I prefer a box, but if it's cheaper via download or only available by download, I'll go for it.
