Yeah, I thought it was a move showing they CARED about their customers.Abedeus said:Are you defending SecuROM? Or maybe you just don't understand PC gamers at all? Because no PC gamer would really defend a crappy, bugged and punishing the legal players DRM... hell, any DRM except for Steam is idiotic.cainx10a said:With Borderlands, I just want to see all those playing non-legit copies banned from steam/gamespy. And personally, the DLC for Borderlands is amazing and I love it, and I want more. :SAbedeus said:Borderland's DLC for PC was even worse.
Not only late, but also stealth activating SECUROM. Come on...
I just wish PC gamers would grow up. And I am a PC gamer. :s
Same reason I bought it instead of just downloading off torrents: because I thought the developers actually cared.dududf said:Abedeus said:Borderland's DLC for PC was even worse.

Wait..wait...wait...
I bought the game, because it DIDN'T have Securom, and that it's a good game. Are you saying they just forced Securom on me? Because now my .exe's bigger, and I'm finding out some hidden details in the 1.1 patch steam forced me to DL.
Please for the love of god, tell me my findings are incorrect.
If they are correct (if you don't know say so) Could I get a refund from steam?
They don't. Also I can't buy the DLC, because direct2drive doesn't sell it and official sites accept only Credit Cards, no Debits or Paypal. Dozens of PC players are getting refunds or just not buying DLCs. I bought the game on d2d, so I can just NOT patch it, but someone who bought from Steam...
Do you know how much songs could have been fitted on the original release discs? And how many DLC is prepped before game release?Mechanix said:If there is one thing I can't stand about games these days, it's DLC. All it is is a way for companies to milk money from players who just want more. I paid 60 damn dollars for my Modern Warfare 2, and now I'm supposed to dish out and extra 10 for some new maps? And I need to pay 10 bucks to play some stupid zombie game that should have been in Borderlands in the first place?
The only games I feel that have justifiable DLC are Rock Band and Guitar Hero. They're dishing out new songs every week, so it's not like they can give it to us all on the disc. But what about those stupid additions to other games? I already paid you money, why are you leaving a piece of the game out just so you can charge me for it later?
Well rant over....what do you guys think of it?
As I understand it, they've recently reversed their position on this?Acrisius said:It fucking sucks when the developer basically pisses on the consumers and milk them for cash by either withholding content to sell it later or make the content as such that the game you originally bought loses value if you don't buy the content.
Example of this is Halo 3; I didn't buy all those map-packs, and the time I didn't have them, I was unable to properly enjoy multiplayer. Matchmaking was stripped down to half of what it was when I originally bought the game, thus actually making the game lose value if you didn't pay up.
They're downloaded for a reasonable cost*, and saved directly to the hard drive?Russian_Assassin said:I wonder what happened to expansion packs...![]()
Is your user name a reference to the Megadeth song that came from the riffs Mustaine wrote to The Four Horsemen?Mechanix said:If there is one thing I can't stand about games these days, it's DLC. You know, I've seen a million people type the words.phrase, "Please don't flame me, Flame Shield up! etc...." ad bloody nauseam but nobody ever gets actually flamed on here. This is the Escapist. We have a current troll population of nil, and only a minority of fucking idiots.Pararaptor said:No flames.
Yeah it is, Four Horsemen is my fave song so I know the history behind itIs your user name a reference to the Megadeth song that came from the riffs Mustaine wrote to The Four Horsemen?
If so... kudos.
OT:
I was very glad to have new stuff to do in Fallout 3, but I have been underwhelmed by most DLCs.
Rock Band has passed 1000 songs (or close to it). Yeah they could fit more onto the disc and if you look at the forums that is what a lot of people are asking for. But 1000 songs does not cost 50 dollars, and with the instruments it certainly is not that either.Mechanix:

There's your first mistake, you should have simply not bought it lol.Mechanix said:I paid 60 damn dollars for my Modern Warfare 2,
