What is your RPG play style?
Are you the DPS, who does as much damage as he can and burns his enemies down quick?
Are you the tank, who's armor is so heavy that all damage is practically brushed off? Not to mention the giant piece of metal you hide behind that you call a shield.
Are you the Healer, who stands by and watches his comrades fight sending in most needed heals to them when they seem close to their dooms?

Talk about your play style, name the games you play like that in and if you choose a style, specify if you prefer Melee or Caster when needed.

Personally I like to Tank, I have a Paladin tank in WoW and It's pretty fun. I'm also a pretty good healer so the class I have is perfect for me.

I'm a ranged DPS in WoW. I actually only found out what DPS meant when I hit about level 70 (I'm level 80 as of today and I still have a lot to learn about the game). I also enjoy melee combat and would rather do that but I damage better with ranged weaponry.

Even in FPS games, I'm always the sniper or the one lobbing grenades at a distance.

I usually play DPS but like in FFXI I played a Paladin (tank class).
Usually I play the 'dime a dozen' DPS though.

Tank only. Otherwise I feel useless.

Besides, I don't have much time to spend just sitting around screaming "DPS LFG ". I mean, my Warrior and Priest can't solo without getting spams to tank one dungeon or another.

AND I LOVE IT.

Healer, because it means I can be as rude as possible.
If they complain, I just leave and they can spend an hour or two finding a new healer.

I prefer a character that can tank and heal or DPS and heal though. This is why I like the upcoming WoW patch as a Paladin/Druid(druid is my main char), it introduces dual specs meaning I can heal or DPS depending on what the group needs.

and no offense to you tanks but i have never understood slaughtering the poor beasties up front... i tried it and all i got was "go here and kill this" or "run through and be our sacrifice"... i dunno, is it just me?

i play LOTRO (plz don't rant, i'm sick of it by this point)

On the very rare occasions I have participated in an MMO, I go DPS melee. That is because I usually am doing something else at the same time, so I liked being able to just click swing and let everyone else worry about healing me and everything that goes along with paying attention.

Yeah I can't wait to be able to Dual Spec, going to keep my Protection (Tank) spec and also go into Holy (Healing) as my 2nd spec. That way I'll be the perfect Raid Paladin. Rdy to Heal or tank on demand.

Ever since Guild Wars, I've been stuck on DPS caster. I mean, who DOESN'T love burning people?

Versatile caster for me, usually consisting of a mix of manipulation, damage, and buffing (and if the game allows, melee as a viable last resort). I rarely like to play a specialist.

Healer here.

I played Monks in Guild Wars, and Holy Paladins in World of Warcraft. Since it was a Paladin, though, I wasn't against occasionally tanking, which I did enjoy.

I tend to favor DPS type classes in games, as most games it translates to the only real class that can choose to solo content. Mind you, I do not play World of Warcraft, so any balancing relevant to WoW exclusively is lost upon me. Though I do often find in late game things become difficult as healing classes tend to be scarce, so I told myself the next MMO I play I would try to be the healer myself so I wouldn't have to worry about finding one. Though it is possible I won't ever play another MMO, as honestly I've gotten bored with them and I doubt that one will come around that will lure me back to the genre before Diablo III comes out and claims my gaming soul for the next decade.
