To be honest, I rarely give a shit about story in RPGs. And this is no exception. I'm buying this for the combat, length, and...that's it really. The story comes 3rd on my list.A Weakgeek said:Well, its kinda like KotOR but medieval. KotOR is better but I just need something like it, since kotor 3 got scrapped. So yeah probably, though the story does not interest me at all.Onyx Oblivion said:http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/260/index/6011608
It's all done, for better or for worse.
I'll be getting it, as it looks more streamlined, but not remotely to such a degree as Mass Effect 2. And the Rogue looks to actually play like a Rogue. With nimble movements and all. Unlike most Rogues, which are usually just stealth characters in most games. I am very mad about being forced to play as a human with the dialogue wheel, though.
But it still has stats like Strength and Dexterity. And skill trees. And all that good shit. Me likey that stuff. Me likey that stuff with respec of some sort more...but me still likey.
Odd. Though I prefer playing them separately; the prospect of a single 100 hour epic is daunting enough with my current workload. Do you happen to know why they called it such a confusing name?bussinrounds said:Yea, look it up. It lets you play BG AND BG2, plus the expansions, in one game. All with the BG2 engine and interface.Lukeje said:Trilogy?bussinrounds said:As much as i liked DAO, i'm gonna be too busy playing the classics, like the Baldurs Gate Trilogy...
Edit: ...and no, I won't be getting it. At least not until I get round to getting the first one.
Why was I quoted for that comment?bussinrounds said:Lukeje said:Trilogy?bussinrounds said:As much as i liked DAO, i'm gonna be too busy playing the classics, like the Baldurs Gate Trilogy...

And it generally seems not up to standard.
I'll probably end up getting it, but I just don't know when.
RPGs with tactical depth are a rarity these days, basically. RPGs are becoming solely based on story, with combat taking a more and more action oriented approach, with gross oversimplification.BoredDragon said:Can someone explain why this game franchise is appealing to most people? I remember when RPGs averaged 50-60 hours.SomethingAmazing said:Gritty medieval settings just turn me away from the game.
And from what I hear, the last game was way too drawn out and it appears this is no different.
As long as it isn't as HERP DERP simpleas Mass Effect 2 was, I should be fine...Joshimodo said:It does seem to be dumbed down a bit, though.
