Everybody dreams and anyone who says otherwise is a liar. Now whether or not you remember the dreams is a different matter entirely. OT: I dream pretty often and occasionally remember them quite vividly and other times it's a bit of a haze.

Lately most of my dreams have been really dark. I mean REALLY dark. There are three in particular that really stick out in my mind:

1. Four people wearing red cloaks are walking through a parking lot and into a mall or department store of some sort while shooting everyone in sight. I was hiding behind a car and didn't get shot myself but I vividly watched them blow away a large number of people using what seemed to be shotguns and handguns. Then I woke up.

2. A really large heavily trafficked bridge (for some reason I feel like it was the Ben Franklin Bridge, perhaps because I've driven over it many times) undergoes catastrophic failure and collapses. It's then wracked with an explosion from a massive tanker truck that blows up most of the cars near it along with burning people trying to escape. There was also a helicopter trying to fly close to the bridge but it crashed into the bridge for some reason.
Then I woke up.

3. I'm looking up at the sun and watching as it literally burns out. Without it the entire earth is drowned in perpetual darkness. People all around me begin screaming and freezing to death from the cold as polar winds ravage the planet and wipe everyone out. Then I woke up.

I'm not sure what any of this means but a friend said it's because I'm overstressed. Honestly though I don't feel that stressed at all for the most part so I don't understand where these dreams came from.

yes. my dreams are usually ridiculous.

once, me and my freinds were rowing in the ocean in a pontoon boat and we were attacked by pirates. my friends all died, by i ended up killing the pirates and beaching the ship. on the beach the boats side opened into sliding doors. when i walked into the door, it was a walmart. all the employees were midgets. me and the midgets rose against the manager and escaped.

however, my last one i tried to punch someone and ended up punching my headboard promptly waking me up. my hand hurt.

i have dreams nightly and also i just sometimes like to sit in the middle of the day and dream. my dreams are sort of set out in a story, with each dream following on from the last one untill i want to change my dream.

Everyone has dreams basically every time they fall asleep, you just can't remember all of them :p

Everyone dreams. It's just a question of whether you wake up during the dreaming phase to remember them or not.

Haha I once dreamt about Yahtzee! I'd just given birth, like you do, and then I lost my baby so my dad was helping me find it. We were on a boat of some kind and then we both got distracted by Yahtzee doing some form of stand up show. I think it was actually a Frankie Boyle/Yahtzee hybrid.

Yep, that's pretty much the sort of thing that happens in my head most nights.
So...you have a secret Yathzee-fetish? He'd be so touched.
Haha! I don't know if getting distracted by someone can be counted as a fetish, but whatever ;D

I dream every night and usually remember scraps of it when I wake up. Last night for instance featured me being forced to find my way out of an alternate dimension that featured several caverns, zombies with paralyzing stares, and (thankfully) safe houses. I kept failing and being forced back to where I started over and over and I woke up before I escaped (which kind of sucks; I wanted to see the end credits). Very Groundhog Day-esque.

I only have nightmares, the last normal dream I had was about 7 years ago.

And I am cool with that because nightmares are always more interesting than normal dreams.

I have dreams every night. I've only started remembering them again recently, though.

I was trying to improve my memory of dreams a while ago, it was starting to work really well, I could remember one or two dreams a night vividly. I fell out of the habit though and it has started to slip. I'm going to get back into it after my exams are over.

There was one that I remembered that amused me. I was looking at fliers for driving lessons and I remember one having REMEMBER on the front in big letters. At the time it made perfect sense in context (things do that in dreams) but it was only when I woke up I realised it was actually what I was trying to do at the time slipping into my dreams. Kind of a fun example in an otherwise kind of boring dream.

Lucid dreams are the best, the kind where you realise you're dreaming and feel powerful, but all I seem to able to do, when I discover my dream power, is make dragons appear...but they're rubbish cartoon style dragons.

And then I wake up. :/

A couple nights ago, I had played Mass Effect all day and was a little sick that night, so I half-woke up but was still kind of dreaming something based on Mass Effect and it felt like I was epically tripping out, like I had OD'd on every drug in the world.

But I occasionally remember my dreams, and if I do they're almost always extremely vague. I love the really long vivid ones that feel like they last for hours.

Normally I might only remember my dreams once every few months, but the past week I've been remembering at least one every night, very vividly too.

I came so close to becoming lucid last night too! I was just standing there (in my dream) when I suddenly thought to myself "Hold on a minute, I'm dreaming here!". So I started pinching and slapping myself, but I guess my brain tricked me or something because I thought I felt pain...

... And then I woke up. I was dreaming! Damn, I was annoyed by that.
OK, that's coming close to blowing my mind. I think if I become cognizant of the weird shit I've been dreaming about mid-dream...the universe would break or something. Probably not.

No no no, being aware that you're dreaming is a wonderful thing, because then you can learn to control your dreams!

It's called Lucid Dreaming [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream]. Imagine being able to do whatever you want, and with no consequences! Awesome stuff.

That's why I was annoyed when I woke up. :p
I've done that too, it was a while ago though and I never had the same experience, I tried to get out of the dream but I couldn't, then I went to fight a monster that looked an awful lot like a Dusclops from Pokemon, and it ate all the stuff in my classroom.

...Yeah.
