What do you think should be next in line for Bethesda ?

Should they make a elder scrolls game(best known as oblivion and Morrowind, games before them in the series were daggerfall, the largest gameworld ever created, its rougly the size of britain, 64 000 km2 or sumthin, and arena)

OR

should they stick to the much reputable fallout series with the innovative V.A.T.S system ?

Should they integrate V.A.T.S and the EXP level up system into elder scrolls ?

What's your thoughts ?

Please share them.
Well they already have Fallout 4 in development.
no, the elder scrolls is in development. fallout is not in development and will most likely go to obsidian again.
No you clearly haven't been keeping up with news on the subject:

Dude. Wikia. Wiki.

"It is reasonable to assume..." Famous last words on far more reputable sights than that one.

*face palm* on the page shows part of an legit article that one of the betheseda members said they were working on Fallout 4. Also why would the fan-wiki lie to their readers? Unlike Wikipedia they don't have reason to.

As much as I love the Fallout Series, we are long overdue for a new Elder Scrolls game. Maybe they can build it off a new engine besides Gamebyro.

Sigh, I remember when the first screenshots of Gamebyro were realized and convincing myself it was the most realistic game ever. My how times have changed

And also, fast travel isn't compulsory, so get this, you can NOT use it, zomg.
The failure of so many people to grasp this simple idea over so many years continues to astound me.

Oblivion fast travel system=shit
Oblivion without fast travel=shit
Oblivion with a fast travel system that makes sense and isn't a teleport cheat that doesn't work indoors=not shit
Um, no? I'm not 100% clear what you are referencing in that last line, but I think you're saying the systems works in the game it is in, though it is shit. I still disagree with that, because the fast travel system is just a player-time saving function where your character just walks to the destination. No Athletics XP gets earned, and no monsters are encountered along the way. It's not a good system at all, because it doesn't properly simulate movement across the world as it is pretending to. If you are truly auto-walking to a destination, then there is no damn reason why a player shouldn't be able to fast travel while inside a building or cave. Not to mention that it's been established that teleportation works in this universe, so why can't I grab 3000 pounds of loot and TP to the nearest town? I can't anymore because my character actually has to walk the distance now.

Look at the travel system in Morrowind: You are literally disappearing from one location and appearing at the other, or you are riding a giant bug that no monster would ever be stupid enough to fuck around with. In the case of personal teleportation, makes more sense than auto-walking. Oblivion fast travel doesn't make the game better or worse, it make it more stupid. That is a damn good reason to ***** about it whether I chose to use it or not.
I think I agree with all points.

I was simply saying that people want a Morrowind-style or Daggerfall-style fast travel system in Oblivion. They don't want the existing system simply to be removed.

And hundreds, perhaps thousands of people on the Bethesda forums just sneer and point out that fast travel is optional. Yeah, because walking everywhere is so much fun.
Especially in the eternal abyss of bland-ness that is Cyrodiil. Yeesh.

Personally, I REALLY want a new Elder Scrolls game, but where the hell are they going to set it? With any luck, it'll be in Atmora... thousands of cookies await those who know what Atmora is. You have to be a diehard TES fan, trust me.

It's been two Fallout games sense the last Elder Scrolls game, and Fallout is a bit less awesome than the Elder Scrolls.

So, a new Elder Scrolls game.

I would like a new elder scrolls, just a little more variety in the terrain and better voice acting this time guys!

Also I still have not forgotten the assasination of Captain Picard, oh no.

But on the other hand I have really enjoyed fallout thus far, the "standard fastasy setting" as yahtzee calls it, is getting old Dragon age origins bored me to death for this reason.

I hear you. To hell with that Fischer Price fantasyland. I swear that game was inspired more by Fable and that sort of lame genre stuff than any of their own material.

Atmora is long-dead and frozen. That's why the Nords came south after killing all their mer.

It's probably Skyrim at this point, though. I would have vastly preferred Elsweyr or Hammerfell. Part of what made Morrowind great was that it used real world human cultures for inspiration in a way that went deeper that two bit D&D ethnic stereotypes. But you just know the current dev team is going to make the next game a viking fest. The kids will love it.

Read the thread before you facepalm me. The articles linked are obviously legit. The conclusions drawn are just 'analysis' by fans.

I never said Fallout 4 wasn't in development, just that no one knows whether it will come out first.

I want a new Fallout game more than the alternative, but Bethesda needs to develop a new engine for handling the series from a first-person perspective. Given that, I think that what they should do is take a few years to develop a new Elder Scrolls game to test out the new engine and then implement that into a new Fallout title.

They're making one game in TWO PARTS! :D

Better still, they're make one TES game in... how many races are there in canon TES?... yeah, THAT many parts. It seems to be working for Blizzard after all.

Why would they bother when they now own id software and have access to the idTech 5 engine?

Elder Scrolls.
If Elder Scrolls had Mount&Blade style combat and you could lead a team of 5-10 dudes in a mercenary group, helping in large scale battles, it would be the best thing ever (Assuming they iron out the bugs).

I'm inclined to believe the rumor, 'cause it looks just enough like a videogame to not be a photo. (On the other hand, I can't quite imagine how this can render on a modern console, so...)

Aaah, Ok. Yeah, I wouldn't want the fast travel system removed either, but in my first playthrough of the game, I avoided using it because I like to naturally train my skills. I mean if my character is walking all that distance, shouldn't I reap some reward for it? It didn't make the game any better so I eventually stopped playing. I'm in the process of another playthrough, and I bought training for that sucker as soon as I could afford to level the Speed points.

I'm already itching for a new Fallout, I dunno I guess I just like the post-apocolyptic setting over generic fantasy land.
