It's believed to be a new Elder Scrolls game:
[link]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102813-Bethesda-Working-on-Two-Games-at-Once-Says-Producer[/link]

I think Bethesda would do better sticking to the Elder Scrolls series - let Obsidian revive the Fallout series and focus on their own IP.
Obsidian should keep their buggy hands off of Fallout, I love New Vegas to death but the constant crashes are rage inducing.
Same here. It's a fun game, when it's working: hardly ever.

I would like to see a new TES with a vats type system: as the archery and ranged spells in that game were almost completely worthless.
They could call it FATS: Fairy Assisted Targeting System.

At either rate. If they're going to keep making console games, they need to make a new engine. The last two Fallout games are fun but technically complete messes.

When that's done I'd like to see Bethesda do another TES game.
as i tend to play a melee and healing style FATS might get me to play a ranged style instead of disregarding it as clumsy

as for what id like to see in a Elder scrolls game is an increase in assassin, stealth, and thief type quests. For that matter id love to see the whole game packed with way more quests than was in oblivion.
Me too, I found the ranged combat very frustrating: lots of slow moving spells & arrows and a lot of erratically moving enemies. I still used spells but mostly for healing and summoning also. I would say Oblivion actually needed a vats/fats type function more than Fallout did.
What would be great is if they took note of one of the brilliant things Obsidian did with New Vegas and make the main quest missions different depending on how many assassin brotherhood, wizard, or whatever side quests you do.

Sorry. Accidental double post.
To not waste the space:
I think they should at least improve the archery enough that you don't HAVE to use a vats/fats system and there should be a few (lightning?) spells, that don't move like a bowling ball either.

Not that this would ever be done by Bethesda.. Or anyone really but a Fallout 2 remake for DS/PSP.
Personally I think it'd work on both and I'm probably going to have alot of people disagreeing with me on this but eh.

Not that it matters, but Minecraft most definitely has a larger game world...

I vote Elder Scrolls, never really sunk my teeth into one before, but I'd be willing to give it a next gen go after Fallout 3.
I thought that, Minecraft has maps that can generate to multiple times the Earth's surface, nevermind just Britain, like Hammerfell's map.

I never really liked Fallout 3, I have it, but it had the same feel of oblivion to me, which didn't work with guns, so Fallout to me just wasn't good at all.

Word to the wise, start with Morrowind. It gives the best first impression.
I would say that Morrowind is pretty awful at its first impression. For modern gamers at least.

It's still much better than Oblivion's. As long as people realise that you have to not be so tired you're in danger of collapsing to hit an opponent, they should be good <.<

We've just had a new Fallout game released so I'd prefer it if they made another Elder Scrolls game first. Fallout fans have New Vegas to play with now and Fallout online to look forward to, give TES fans something.

Bethesda did announce that they were making a new Elder Scrolls when they said they'd released a novel based in the same game world.

It will be an Elder Scrolls game, hopefully with a new engine.

That way we can have our sword, spell and bow weilding fun amongst the bugged out game world. Then by the time they make Fallout IV they will have all the bugs fixed.

And I'll ride a flaming flying pig named Michel to the moon to have sex with Elvis the Space Pope.

What do you think should be next in line for Bethesda ?

Should they make a elder scrolls game(best known as oblivion and Morrowind, games before them in the series were daggerfall, the largest gameworld ever created, its rougly the size of britain, 64 000 km2 or sumthin, and arena)

OR

should they stick to the much reputable fallout series with the innovative V.A.T.S system ?

Should they integrate V.A.T.S and the EXP level up system into elder scrolls ?

What's your thoughts ?

Please share them.
VATS was in the original fallouts. saying VATS is innovative is like saying halo is innovative because it was 3D.

since obsidian has done so well with fallout they may just let obsidian have a go at it. i would welcome that since obsidian does have the original creators in their staff. too bad about tim cain, though,
V.A.T.S in an strategy RPG, where vats is the one and ONLY way to fight is one thing.

Vats in an FPS is another thing, and it IS innovative ;)

Don't misunderstand me. Morrowind is a better game, but has inferior graphics and animations with frustrating combat at low levels and little action or story until later on.

seeing all the potential of whats been learned from fallout (VATS swords and arrows!), ive had a desperate need for a new elder scrolls. i really, really, REALLY am looking forward to that announcement, and i really, really, REALLY would not care if its another fallout related announcement; 2 games and half a dozen DLC is enough damnit, i want to kill things with my custom fireball spell again.

I don't care which comes next, I just hope it isn't buggy and glitchy and crashy and deletey.

Releasing three Fallout titles in a row is excessive.

They will release a bunch of DLCs for Fallout: NV, which will keep the Fallout fans happy (hopefully), while working towards a release of the next TES title.

I hope to God their either revamp or throw away the VATS system they currently have. It really unbalances the game (given that you can put all your perks towards booting you VATS performance), seems to be hardware intensive and buggy for a lot of people.

Definitely a new Elder Scrolls. Oblivion-esque graphics with Morrowind-esque equipment.

I WANT GODDAMN CAPES AND POLEARMS DAMNIT!

*NOTE: I'm a console gamer. I don't get access to shiny mods. :[
