Me too, I found the ranged combat very frustrating: lots of slow moving spells & arrows and a lot of erratically moving enemies. I still used spells but mostly for healing and summoning also. I would say Oblivion actually needed a vats/fats type function more than Fallout did.iblis666 said:as i tend to play a melee and healing style FATS might get me to play a ranged style instead of disregarding it as clumsyGonzoGamer said:Same here. I think Bethesda would do better sticking to the Elder Scrolls series - let Obsidian revive the Fallout series and focus on their own IP.
I would like to see a new TES with a vats type system: as the archery and ranged spells in that game were almost completely worthless.
They could call it FATS: Fairy Assisted Targeting System.
At either rate. If they're going to keep making console games, they need to make a new engine. The last two Fallout games are fun but technically complete messes.
When that's done I'd like to see Bethesda do another TES game.
as for what id like to see in a Elder scrolls game is an increase in assassin, stealth, and thief type quests. For that matter id love to see the whole game packed with way more quests than was in oblivion.
What would be great is if they took note of one of the brilliant things Obsidian did with New Vegas and make the main quest missions different depending on how many assassin brotherhood, wizard, or whatever side quests you do.
