I don't like much rap, but I enjoy Eminem. It seems like he's one of the few rappers who doesn't just sing about how he and his homies are total pimps.
Really? because he actually does quite a lot. In fact I really don't understand why so many people give Eminem a pass and then in the same breath say they don't like the content of other rappers when Eminem has been one of the most offensive rappers i've listened to. With that said I am an avid Eminem fan but then again I like a lot of Hip hop.
I said he doesn't "just" do that. Yes, I'm aware that he does have quite a few songs like that, but that isn't all he sings about, which is the difference between him and a lot of other "mainstream rappers."
Except again thats not true you're just making a sweeping generalization. Can you name any rappers that rap soley about how much of a pimp they are? Because i'd say the ratio is about the same between Shady and other rappers.

I am a metal fan. I hate rap, hip-hop, pop, etc. Eminem is the exception to this. I don't like all of his music, but I find a lot of it to be socially relevant and meaningful.

I don't listen to much rap, but I do like and respect Eminem. I can relate to a lot of what he says, he seems a lot more real and raw than a lot of artists out there, and he's not afraid to take the piss out of himself.

Well, I hate rap.
But I don't mind his psuedo-rap.

To be specific, I rather like that one what with the guy who's writing to eminem, and then kills himself because eminem didn't reply.
What's that one called?

He's one of the few rappers I like, mainly because his focus isn't fixed on materialism so his music actually has depth.

I didn't much like the songs on Relapse but I think I'm going to like Recovery a lot more, there's a track on there called Won't Back Down and it kicks ass.

Here it is.

After 'The Eminem Show', he went through a lame patch where he sort of lost his way but he is now back on form with his latest album 'Recovery' where it is a mix of his earlier style and an older wiser Eminem.
Eminem will be remembered long after he stops making music and deserves his place among the greatest rappers of all time.

HATE. But I hate all rap, and honestly, haven't really listened to him at all. But that's because I know I'd hate it. Just like country.
"Man, France is crappy... I haven't been, but I just *know* it'll be crappy". How about trying a couple of tracks before writing off a whole genre?

His old stuff was crap, his stuff since he started making fun of people has been great.
I'm actually going to disagree here. As soon as he starts calling out real people he dates himself. Young listeners are going to listen to "I'm sorry Mrs. Chenney but your husband's heart problem's complicating" and not understand the reference whatsoever.

OT: I voted Yes, although I agree with a lot of the Nos in this thread. His tracks with the accents grind on my nerves like no other, and he definitely needs some new material. After listening to Relapse and hearing him still rapping about murdering women and pop stars I was disappointed. After over 10 years in the mainstream rap circuit, he shouldn't be rapping about the same things still. I feel like he is slowly figuring this out, however. I plan on checking out the new album soon, but from what reviews I have read it is still lacking somewhat. Soon as I find $10 I'm gonna check it out.

I like some of his songs a lot, but some of them don't interest me (Cleanin' Out My Closet).

P.S.

Yes. I love Eminem. He is one of the only white
rappers, and rappers period that I like to listen to. I dig his part on that 3 way song Airplanes & Shooting Stars, with Hayley Williams and BoB. xD
He sings in that song? I never heard him singing in any part of it. I do love that song, however.
