Also, how are we defining 'end of the world'?

Are we talking the complete destruction of Earth? The loss of it's biosphere? Or simply the death of all people?

I'm going to arbitrarily assume you mean the death of all people, because frankly if everyone's dead I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone else who'll give a crap about everything else.

From THAT stand point, I don't see the end of the world happening for a long time if at all. Let's be real about this, as far as these things go we're pretty damn hardy critters, and even extremely massive events have a good chance of leaving SOME of us alive to continue on. To kill all people on Earth would require something of sufficient magnitude to be disrupting ALL life on Earth and despite what a lot of people might think we're not really even close to being able to do the damage that nature itself can do at this point.

Thus, I'd have to say a major natural cataclysm. Probably an asteroid or super volcano.

This is assuming that we're STILL RESTRICTED TO THE EARTH. Once we start having things like independent off world colonies (SPACE IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT) I'm hard pressed to think of many things that could come close to killing all of us. Even a massive and exceptionally thorough space war would still probably leave SOMEONE alive, and once we manage to spread to other stars then as far as I'm concerned our species has 'won' the game of life, and the most that anyone needs to be worried about is the entropic heat-death of the universe.

You're right about us being gone before the sun burns up.
If you mean just the end of humanity then I would say a plague, or maybe an asteroid.
The others (I'm looking at you, zombie attack) are rather absurd or can easily be survived, though unpleasant (global warming).

I believe giant chickens that fire nukes out of their mouths will end the world.
I mean, WAR!

Humanity will end when we fuck up the planet too much for us to survive, or create a super disease. The world itself will end in 1 of 2 ways. Meteor or the sun explodes. Those are the only ones I can see in both situations, nuking the world to death doesn't just seem that likely, specially as humanity actually would continue to live, like in New Zealand who I don't think anyone would fire a nuke at. They don't have many enemies, would you believe it. I don't even think North Korea would fire a nuke their way, and those people are out of their minds.
Since he's talking about the end of people, Firing a single nuke would end the world. Most of the major countries have a M.A.D system. Mutually assured destruction, E.G russia fires a nuke, america fires back, north korea joins in etc. Even if a nuke wasn't fired at a paticular country the radiation from all those nukes would eventuallyu reach it on air currents, wiping them all out.

I think the world will end in a war, which will destroy the world with nuclear warfare. Because its human nature to fight and with a suspected massive amount of oil predicted to be under Antarctica, all the super powers will fight for this because no one owns Antarctica it will be peacful first and all the countries will try to negotiate for it, but eventualy we'll fight for it. I think it will be between China, America, Russia and eventualy the UK seeing as these are the only countries with real armies and nukes.

Except that the effects of fallout have been massively overblown, and as long as you avoid the blast itself and the immediate short-lived fallout downrange your chances are pretty good actually.

The sun will become a Red Dawrf, expand and the planets shall be consumed in it's dieing throws.

Until that happens the world will not end, in the intervening time we may become extinct, but the world will not end until the Sun destroys it.

You forgot 'Asteroid we're unable to stop because we're too stupid to have a real space program.'
I have an idea.
Send up three people, one of them being Robert Patrick and give it a nuclear push!
......wait that didn't work entirely right.

The world is guaranteed to eventually end, what you mean is will the human race be alive to see it?

I'd have to say probably not, I'd say the most likely end of the human race will be either disease or the earth becomes too inhospitable to sustain life.
