I was ready to buy this but these $10 schemes really turn me off. And I don't even buy used anymore.
Back when I was poor I had to and that's really why I can't support that kind of scheme.
It's just sad to see that this practice is becoming so commonplace that it isn't even discussed anymore. I didn't hear anything about this until a consumer mentioned it in a forum post. So I didn't actually believe it at first but it turns out to be true.
And I know the argument that if everyone buys used games (which is just impossible) then the company wont make any money and they can't make bigger and better games in the future.
I don't really buy that, that money goes into the pockets of board members and the execs that think up crap like this. They don't go into making bigger better games or to the people who work the long hours in bringing these games to us.
It's just like the excuse that billionaires need their huge tax cuts so they can make more jobs. If that's the case, where are all the jobs?
So, are any of you turned off by schemes like this or are you accepting of any and all measures the publisher can come up with to get people to buy new; or as it appears to me - to punish poor people for not being able to afford to buy new?
