Poll: Ever been threatened in RL?

Hello fellow escapists,

A while back I've been threathened to be beaten up by some guys of my lenght and build.
I didn't think they were fooling around but I kept my cool and just wisecracked my way trough without playing the victim.
In the aftermath I just had a smirk on my face because I was surprised by my own resolve in that situation. I really thought I would curl up and say: "Not in the face!"

So my question to you guys and gals: Have you ever been threatened and how was your resolve?

Yeah, a bunch of times over the years. Usually ends in a fight though.

I can't remember ever being seriously threatened. I don't tend to find myself in situations where people I don't know are angry at me. I try to stay out of the way unless I'm with friends.

Almost every time I talk to a girl.

But seriously, no I don't think so (that's not to say I wasn't serious about them threatening me ). I've been beaten up on account of a friend though, but to be frank I was still laughing my arse off and trying to seperate the two. Fractured my wrist or something silly though.

I've been threatened by kids in my school. It never came to anything, but still...

Nobody threatens you when you're the second tallest guy n school, and the tallest is your friend...

Yep. Once, by some crazy woman who flipped out when I accidentally bumped up against her. She threw a can at me and started yelling. I kept walking.

Yeah with a knife once... didn't realise he was holding one and pushed him away then walked off.

I constantly get threatened by people either my size or bigger. the last was mor ethen one. But its getting less frequent. Usually i just laugh it off or tell the person they dont want to and it goes away. However, sometimes you just have bare your knuckles and get ready to go. I'm about about 84% winning ratio in fights i'm in.

I got threatened by this puny kid in my class last year that he would "Smash my face in with a crobar with his mates". He was the regular chav person, but the funny thing was he was about a fott shorter than me. I just laughed at him until he threw a punch, I stopped laughing, picked him up then threw him to the ground about 5 metres away. I then continued to laugh.
My friends still say that it was one of the funniest things they ever saw.

sadly, a few times, I was a bit large but I didnt care because of the "sticks and stones" stuff, the last time someone threatened me he was going at it all day, but i didnt care until it got physical, at that point I was already trained in martial arts (yeah, its effective) and I hope I will never have to use it again.

I have been stabbed, and I will tell you that it is definitely not a fun experience. I was lucky enough to keep my vitals intact, but to this day there is a lengthy scar on my stomach. I also didn't lose that fight.

For the most part though, people are all talk. They think they have an image to uphold, so if there is an audience, they will want to throw down. When it is just you and them, it doesn't come to fighting unless you have some serious grievances against each other.

I'm quite tall myself and though not buffed, I'm not very slim either. Most of the time that's enough to keep the nasty people at bay, but these two guys were drugged or something so another reason not to fly in there for me. When I get the chance to talk myself out without saying things like: "Sorry for looking you in the eyes, sir." it's fine by me.
But I'm thinking of going on taking martial art lessons myself actually.

Yeah, but only during that 'holy shit, we have freedom over our personalities!' stage that we go through when we're about 13. It was never at all serious.
