Poll: Ever had some Escapist repercussion?

First of all, I have searched along all the Escapist guidlines on the website, and see no reason why this thread should be locked if things are kept at an informative and discussion based level. I see nowhere where discussing one's punishment leads to other's.

Second of all, as you may have noticed, I have very recently recieved probation for one of my comments on another poll (which I invite anyone to go look at).

I suppose you could consider it as flaming, but I did not intend it to be particularily offensive, only comical really. So naturally, I'm a tad upset.

My question is, do any other Escapists have a dark past of recieving repercussions for their actions? And if so, do you feel as if you deserved it?

I was suspended for being a tool, I deserved it and it made me laugh heartily. Good fun.

Thankfully just a warning that didn't destroy my chance at getting the Neo badge. I've been very careful and a little paranoid about my posts and how long they are.

I got suspended once for reasons that are not entirely clear.

I also requested a ban a while ago for reasons I would rather not disclose.

And that is all there is to say on the matter.

It'd be pretty bad form if I had regretted something on the Escapist, considering I've only made about 20 posts... not much chance for reprecussion.

In real life, there is the odd one or two things I wish I hadn't said, but nothing particularly life changing or interesting.

I got a probation for a really dumb "You'll Shit Bricks" picture and I regret it terribly.

Got a mod warning for hijacking a thread with no discussion value and had a thread locked, but I could see the reasoning behind each one so I can't complain.

I had a go at someone for something. He deserved it down to the last letter but i also deserved the probation.

I think it was some PC vs Console bullshit. I hate that

Never "Incurred moderator wrath" but I've seen others be punished for, what seems to me, absolutely nothing. It seems like the first three comments on any of the popular videos is an instant ban, even if it's of genuine discussion value.

So yeah, seems to me like the mods are a bit ban-happy.

EDIT: Right. Seems like people are getting the wrong end of the stick. I realise that some of the comments ARE posted before its conceivably possible for them to watch it. That doesn't mean it should result in instaban. It could be completely innocent.

I was put on probation for a stupid reason. Frankly it was because my perfectly unoffensive opinion was not the same as one of those members who get moderator powers. (I dislike all moderators that are from the community, they should be on the payroll).

I messaged the community manager, called him a Nazi and he took me off probation. Damn decent of him.

I also got a warning for commenting on a thread about Islam, that I found the disclaimer everyone puts on a thread regarding muslims, to point out they are not racist and don't hate Islam because they fear reprisals. lol

I got a warning once. It was in a thread where many people were talking about how horribly violent and evil Christianity is, and I commented that Islam has a tendency to be much worse in that regard. Apparently it's okay to say all Christians should die, but saying Islam is more violent gets you a warning.

Seeing as how I'm still in the runnings for the Neo badge, I've been very careful.

got a probation for a one word post where i quoted somebody. Still not sure what i did wrong their but i shrugged it off and moved on.

I've been suspended/probated for a duration of... 2 months? 3 months? I've lost count.

1 of them I didn't entirely agree with was my answer in the "how do you say "hentai""

I posted a picture of a hen wearing a tie. There was no more discussion then that.

I got a warning for a low content post (I HATE that rule) and a probation for saying some flame-bait anti-Apple comment. If anyone wants to see it I think it's on the second page of the iPad Jailbroken in a Day thread.

There are instant repercussions for posting on a video before you possibly could have watched it. There's no reason to post if you haven't even seen the video, and most posts of that nature tend to be trolls or attempts to claim first.

I've never been probated/suspended/banned, except in the brief period when everyone was.
That's because A: I don't make that many posts and B: I make sure to stick within the rules.

That said, I do think I've been perhaps a little flame-happy lately.
