Poll: Extortionate car insurance

I'm doing alright with my insurance paying 125/month for a 2003 mazda protege 5 (Full G,drivers safety training, good student discount,ect) although all the girls I know werepaying this rate before they were 21 while i was still paying 225/month bah

I don't own a car... because of the fucking insurance. For a 1.2 diesel, hardly a boy racer car, I would have to pay £2,500, more than the car itself. I'm fucking 20 years old, and I've been licensed for 2 years and I just can't afford it, because I'm male. A female would get the car insured for half that. Ironically, pensioners get insured for next to nothing despite causing more accidents than any other age group. The double standards astound me.
