Person X kills person Y so person Z kills person X for killing person Y, then person A kills person Z because he was friends with Y, etc etc etc...

Well why the fuck did Z kill X, did he have a prior attachment to Y?

That's usually how it works. Even the most hated person usually has SOME friends or relatives who don't take kindly to the whole "I just killed your brother/best friend/father/etc. Look at how many martial arts films there are where someone goes on a deadly rampage because a sibling was killed.
