Never tried myspace, I use facebook because a lot of my friends do. I doubt I'd go out with uni mates nearly as often as I do without it. I really don't know or care what the pros/cons of it are next to myspace, I hated them both equally until I was bullied into making a facebook. Seemed too much like this.

Facebook... seems more private, and most my friends use it... but lately, it has been getting worse...

Facebook helped me find old friends I haven't talked to in almost ten years. I'm so happy I got into it.

Neither, I dont need stuff like that.
I agree completely. IMO they are for needy trogladites who cannot maintain friendships in the real world.

I use neither, I emplore all my friends to use neither, and everywhere I go I preach the good word against social networking sites. People put out too much personal information on them. THey do stupid things on them with no consideration of the consequences. People are just now figuring out that a lot of bad people use these sites for bad reasons, the first and foremost being the stalker/rapists/murderers who take peoples info and hunt them down, but now there's also agencys out there that do nothing but scour...scowr...ah crap, my brain died, search these sites looking for people on corperate employee lists for incriminating information.

So please, please, PLEASE don't do myspace. Don't do facebook. Don't do IMVU. Don't do twitter. Stay away from these sites like plague germs carrying radioactive guns. THey will fuck your life up. And don't think taking your site off is going to do it either. Remember that whatever goes on the internet stays on the internet forever.

I'm leaning toward the one that isn't filled with 12 year old girls who think they are hot shit and pedophiles who lurk the pages of those 12 year old girls.

Also; What is with those "Fish Faces", you know, where girls look away from the camera and like, purk up their lips?

Every MySpace page I see reminds me of the explosion of Godawful webpages that came with the Geocities era Internet boom. It's a fantastic visual reminder of why most people should never be allowed near web design tools. Ever.

Personally, I stick to Facebook purely as a networking tool within the industry.

Facebook. Myspace has become notorious for taking lives via stalking and suicide. Oh, and kidnappings - can't forget those kidnappings.

is a miserly bastard and don't bother with them, even though people have been pressuring me to get an account for years now

Myspace is so dead in the water. It was horrible to begin with. Yeah, its social networking, but it looks like a giant piece of shit. You log in and are inundated with adverts, flashing shit, retarded graphics, and someone's horrible shitty taste in music. Not to mention I have to be constantly updated about someone's standing in the worlds worst "mafia" game. I just don't give two shits. I hated it from day one and never went back.

Facebook did it much better. Adverts discreet and on the right side, no crap music unless I want it, no flashing gifs, well designed, well programed.

The bad side of Facebook?

1. Privacy issues keep rearing its ugly head. Hey Facebook! Stop trying to figure out ways to sell our private/non private information to people! Nobody wants that at all, ever!!

2. NO, I don't need to be friends with you because we once worked together for a week at a grocery store in 1988. I fucking hate friend collectors. In fact every 6 months I delete people from my friends list and then post "I just cleaned out my friends list. If you are seeing this message, congratulations. You made the cut." The new symbol of status on social networking sites is not how many friends you have, but how many you DONT have. Exclusivity is the key!

ok. i need to go change my cranky pants.

Facebook, most of my friends use it, therefore I have a purpose for using it. It's a fun way to keep in contact with friends when you're at home and you feel like talking about random things.

Facebook, even if I do feel all stalkerish...ahem! Plus parties and stuff are put up on there I'd miss out on otherwise.

I use Facebook more, simply because I could find old friends easier that way. Myspace got boring to me. I did like the customization of Myspace, but none of my friends really used it. Most switched over to Facebook. I go on it, update my status, comment back to people and log. Maybe I'll use the FB chat to talk to people if they don't use MSN or AIM. My dad on the other hand, is on it all the time. Hell, he has it as his start page. I tell him he's ridiculous and it's not all that entertaining to be on it all the time.
