Fallout 2 was kinda a farce if you looked in the right places. It was very fun and easy to get into. The plot was pretty solid and was a nice change from FO1.

Fallout 3. To be honest, despite the great writing and storytelling of the first two games, The gameplay felt pretty bland to me. I'm the kind of guy who can only play turn-based in a tabletop game(or Civilization. >_>)

FO2 - more choices than the first but still a "fallout" game worthy of the title (providing you patched the car glitch). FO3 was a really good game, but hardly deserved to be called a "Fallout" game short of being set in the post-apocalyptic future.

fo2 always i have played it over multiple times just because of all there is to do and ways you can do things entirely different. and the sick twisted humor is a big plus.

fo3 was oblivion with guns it was not really fallout i hope fo nv is great and does feel like fallout but obsidians sketchy track record on games i fear for it.

I'm a huge Bethesda fan, I liked Morrowind and Oblivion. The only reason I got fallout 3 is because it was made by Bethesda, and it lived up to my expectations. I've never actually played the other ones.

Fallout 3, because I've always loved the Elder Scrolls games. I liked the first two, especially their stories and settings, but the third one had a lot more simple enjoyment factor in just fighting despite V.A.T.S. It was fun to stealth kill a super mutant, or traipsing through a raider camp murdering them like a real bad ass while the radio played "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" on the Enclave Station. The first two Fallouts had really fun battles and you felt like you accomplished something by winning, but sometimes its just more fun to have a more action oriented fight.

I loved Fallout 3, but to be honest I have to go with Fallout 2. It just had a better story and unlike Fallout 1 or 3 it actually required you to play through most of the main story. Unlike in Fallout 1 where you could just head straight to the final boss's area as soon as the game began (although it would be suicide) or Fallout 3 where you could just head straight over to rescue your dad after leaving the vault.

I'm going to say Fallout (as in the first one, I refuse to say "Fallout '1'" *sarcastic air quotes around the "1"*). I don't know, the story seemed to make much more sense to me. Also I found Fallout 2 to be incredibly frustrating as I'd be attacked parties of like 10 raiders right from the get go when all I was armed with was a bloody spear. Fallout 3 was pretty good too, although the story seemed somewhat contrived. I did like the gameplay style of Fallout 3. A friend and I actually talked one time about how awesome it would be if Fallout & Fallout 2 had been done in a first person RPG style, and this was several years before they even announced Fallout 3.

Fallout 3. I play games for the gameplay far more than I do for the story or other stuff that isn't gameplay, and FO3's RPG/shooter hybrid was just flat-out more fun than the traditional turn-based PC RPG formula of the first two, enough so that the lackluster story never entered into the discussion with me.

I like Fallout 3 the best. It's my favourite game. Then again, I haven't actually played Fallout 1 or 2. I really should.

Fallout 3 is the only one I've played, but I also really enjoyed it. I'm not sure if I would even like Fallout 1/2 that much.

Fallout 1 is intensely immersive, and I appreciate the challenge. However, Fallout 3 is kind of a joyous romp in a post-apoch sand-box and is much easier to just jump into and start killing things.

I guess it depends on my mood.
1 for storytelling and gameplay, 3 for shooting shit up and pretty graphics.
Never really got into 2, going to have to give it another try soon.

2 was amazing, don't get me wrong, but 3 is just plain fun as fuck. I'm actually in the middle of playing it for a third time right now, and I'm the type of gamer who plays a game once then forgets about it and moves on. So for me to play it three times is special. Needless to say, I'm getting hyped for New Vegas.

I gotta go with Fallout 3, mainly because its the only fallout I've played... I just haven't gotten the time to get around the playing 1 and 2 yet :(
