Man I hated fallout3.
I just couldn't stand it.
Not because I hate the adventure aspect. No, no that is awesome as always.
But seriously, it's freakin bleak, depressing, and everything kills you. Even the environment. But not in a creative "Aww that plant just tried to eat me!" sorta way. More like "You now have cancer" sorta way. Oh, and the healthcare? Its freakin terrible. First time I played I got a concussion right off the bat and had no fuckin idea how to make it stop. It gave me a migraine.
Taking care of your partners is a pain in the ass. Dogmeat is the only one I can stand...mainly because he doesn't talk back and you can heal him whenever....
You can't kill the children, for some god fearing reason. But you can make them orphans. Much more ethical.
Walking across the wasteland seemed more like a chore than an adventure. All for short, easy, tedious missions that often leave me feeling like I missed something.
Talking to people sucks, because If I want to be anything other than a goody two shoes, they try to kill me. So now I have several towns full of dead people.
They give you radio, which would be a good thing..if the stations they gave you played good music, and you had them all right off the bat. Why did dogmeat have to die over a stupid violin, that turned out to be out of tune anyways?
I liked oblivion, where everything came together. Fallout seems too......shallow I guess. I just went on gamefaqs not too long ago to check if how many quests/missions I didn't do and where to find them. I had only done....maybe 20 or so, including main quests, and it turns out I did them all.
I really do enjoy walking through the capital wasteland and finding different groups(preferably one that doesn;t want you dead) fighting each other.
And not knowing if whats around the corner can kill you in one hit or not? IT's a good feeling.
But overall, I dislike it. Maybe if they just added more stuff to do in between cities, or maybe made it closer together...
