I didn't like them, so I waged psychological warfare on them. But after I was done with the quest I left and never came back, so I forgot about them.

So to answer your question, I was annoyed at first, but now I don't really mind.

Thta whole part of the game seemed a little tacked on. Especially in light of the inability to kill the children (at least on the xnox version). They were a little mazelike village of immortal irritants.

I hated EVERY single one of them. EVERY single one. All of them, especially "Mayor" MacReady and the little girl that runs around singing, "Mungo, mungo, smells like dung-o!" are horrible, obnoxious little brats that have no business running a city.

Call me overdramatic, but it's absolutely absurd to think that A) these kids STILL haven't managed to grasp the fact that all of them will become the "mungos" they so hate, no matter what they do, yet they still keep insulting you, and B) these kids are able to run the city at all.

How is it that a colony of children, albeit children that can't be killed- by you- managed to keep EVERY SINGLE PERSON who reaches the age of 16 from leading an insurrection against the little brats? How are they able to force everyone out when they reach 16 and fail to realize how utterly evil it is to send someone out into the Wasteland, with little or no food, to reach a town that's basically in the crapper, for no real reason other than it's fun?

God, I wish mods were available for the 360 version. The tunnels of Little Lamplight would run red with blood...

Yeesh, so much hate for so little reason. Then again, I'm a lot further into my "mungodom" than a lot of teh haterz... maybe the kids don't get under my skin because I see less of myself in them. (Another possibility, my character got the "Child at Heart" perk right before doing that quest so it was no trouble at all getting through Little Lamplight.)

Am I the only one creeped out when somebody says 'I cannot kill children and therefore immersion is lost'? I mean, I'd want to punch those kids in their irritating smug nonsensical faces, but to go as far as to desire the ability to kill a fictional child? Some shit is just messed up, regardless of context.

I think what offended me the most about Little Lamplight was how jaw-droppingly stupid the setup was. There are a bunch of kids, living in a cave, entirely safe from Raiders or the super mutant production facility right next door, and when one of the kids hits puberty the ruling council of eleven-year-olds demands he leaves and never returns. Why didn't the older kids just refuse to leave, seeing as they can beat up the eleven-year-olds? Why would someone happily go along to the hellish hole-in-the-ground Big Town on the urging of said annoying elevn-year-olds? Why haven't they all been KILL BY DEMONS? I thought a town centred around an unexploded atom bomb was retarded, but this was like a punch to the solar plexus.

Ever since I got the mod that lets me kill kids, I have not been annoyed by them at all.

Before that, however, I was aggravated to no end when the brats spoke.

I didn't pay any attention to them, I was in Little Lamplight for about 5 minutes. They didn't bother me.

There are 2 kids in Megaton. You can kill kids, just not directly.

The only ones who really pissed me off were McCreary and Princess, and you can use your speech skill to bully and humiliate Princess and make her cry, which is awesome.

Honestly, I was annoyed by them the first time through, but now I sort of like them, especailly Biwwy (although that may just be because he set me up with an awesome Wazer Wifle). Who knows though; between this and the fact that I enjoyed Assassin's Creed and Pinnacle Station, maybe I just have a high tolerance for shit.
