Fallout 3. A thousand times Fallout 3. I have both, and although they're quite similar in many ways, oblivion is simply doesn't feel like a real, immersive world. You might as well be a tiny painted plastic soldier doing battle on a meticulously crafted styrofoam playset. Almost everybody has the same voice, facial animations are creepy, and combat is lackluster at best. Fallout 3, meanwhile, has a world that perfectly mimics the feel of a desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland. This is why fallout 3 is my favourite game and oblivion is one of my most disappointing buys ever.

I can't vote on this poll because everything was taken to extremes. I like FO3 and Oblivion about the same.. but I don't love or hate them. I'll give em a solid "enjoyable but not the best" as a 5th option.

I honestly have never played Oblivion but it's on my list if I get some extra money.

Fallout 3 had a better atmosphere I thought. I loved wandering the wasteland, and, at lower levels, running like hell from Deathclaws!

I'd have to say Fallout 3, deffinately.

Oblivion isn't THAT bad, but there were things about it I really disliked that Fallout 3 fixed... well, at least it improved them. Not to mention the presence of guns livens things up to no end.

Also, they removed that stupid monsters-level-with-you bullshit... well, mostly. They level with you in new areas, but in old areas they stay at the level you find them at for the most part unless they're traveling groups like the Enclave and Outcasts that aren't native to that part of the map, which makes sense and means you get to go back to earlier perts of the game and one-shot most things in sight when you become more highly leveled.

Fallout had better atmosphere, better combat, more interesting missions and had more depth overall. In Oblivion it was broken with the combat, voice acting, dull missions topping off with bland and empty feeling world

I love them both, but prefer Oblivion. All the guilds are AMAZING! (And made up for how many oblivion gates you had to close in the main quest, it got so samey.)
Plus there's more to do, and I prefer fantasy to futuristic.

I like them both, but Fallout 3 was better at making me enjoy exploring the world because it didn't feel like vast swathes of it were copy-pasted. The guilds in Oblivion were pretty sweet though.

I really do love both but I had to click off Fallout 3 because I enjoyed it that much more.
If Oblivion had a vats type thing (ranged spells and archery were nigh useless), I might have picked that.

Loved both, Unfortunately my Fallout 3 disk has a huge scrach in it, so i cant play that anymore. I still play oblivion from time to time, played it constantly for about a year though, beat it so many times (stoped counting after the fifth time)
