Well, if you're here odds are that you would like to see another addition to the Fallout franchise. While the setting and how long after the events of New Vegas is a different discussion, I think it would be safe to assume that Fallout 4 would take place chronologically after New Vegas.

So what kind of reality would you like to see the most?

*obvious Fallout New Vegas Spoiler warning*

Would you like to see a Post-Apocalyptic America that has been overrun by Legion?

Maybe you want to see Mr. House's vision for America?

What about having NCR emerge as the sole Super Power of the Wasteland?

Or, what I think would be the most interesting, how the fate of an independent New Vegas would play out.

*shrug*

Was just wondering what the fans of the series here on the Escapist would want to see the next time they pick up a Laser Rifle and go out on their own in the wastes. I'm not even factoring in the DLC stories here... Watch out for Deathclaws! ;D

In Vegas, "The house always wins".

Alternatively, preferably the mod where you can join and help the enclave remnant.

Also, this;

NCR. NCR, as a flawed if well meaning political entity has a lot of room for interesting shades of grey. The Legion does not, and in all honesty neither does Mr. House and a robot army. Fallout is at its best when it doesn't have clear, cartoonishly delineated goodies and baddies.

Independent Vegas. It is the option I almost always choose. Although I do think Mister House's ending is more interesting. Will he do what he was planning and is he busy preparing to colonize space. Or was it to ambitious and could he only partially (or not at all) fulfill his vision.

NCR winning. This being Fallout it should probably also have the NCR overextending after the battle and suffering from even more internal conflict over whatever hundreds of NCR soldiers died needlessly to protect the "special interest" of the people in the Mojave instead of protecting the actual NCR. Then you set the game in a place like Utah (I want more of them Honest Heart mormons!) or similar and have the NCR as a side player near the southern edge of the map.

Or,even better, just set it somewhere on the East Coast. I kind of liked that Fallout 3 was in Washington as it mixed things up nicely.

There are actually 5 endings, depending on whether you kill Caesar or not. Under Legate Lanius, the world becomes soooooooooo much worse.

But definitely the NCR ending for me. The NCR ain't perfect, but at the end of the day they are best hope for the world. I never trusted House, as his supposed benevolence only extends so far (just ask the Brotherhood or Vault 21), and I am staunchly against anarchy, so those 2 endings are out. Caesar is just another thug, but a smart one and Lanius is just straight up awful. Frankly I will take the somewhat authoritarian NCR over House and the Legion any day of the week.

This one right here. I've played the game so many times I know how to get the best ending for every single person, follower, and town like the back of my hand. And after doing all the endings at least once, the NCR ending ends up actually having the best result for everyone. Not to mention, the NCR surviving and flourishing turned out to be the canon ending to Fallout 2, so I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case for New Vegas.

Oh, is that what happens at the end? One faction gets control over all of America? It's been a while since I played so I thought the winning faction only gets the Mojave Wasteland.

There needs to be at least one recognisable faction to come back. The Legion sucks and Mr Mouse was easy to kill. Most likely it's going to be the NCR.

Well, I suppose the next biggest faction in the series is the Brotherhood of Steel in the East Coast but the NCR has far larger numbers so I would assume it would become the biggest power in the wasteland in general if it broke apart Caesar's Legion's power during the struggle over the Colorado river in a decisive way.

The ending of New Vegas does just describe what happens to the Mojave territory.

Just omitted it for the sake of simplicity.

Well there's one more faction that actually gains significant power if you do it right: the Great Khans. If you convince the Khans to migrate to the north and east where they settled in Wyoming and reconnect with the Followers of the Apocalypse. After that, it says that they managed to build a large empire there, so that could also be a new faction to go against. That's one of the more difficult endings to get actually I find because you can easily screw it up when siding with the NCR, which is what it would require.

Forgot about that one. Mainly because the Khans are such a sidelined faction in New Vegas for the most part. A new Fallout with a powerful Khan faction would be awesome now that I think of it...

MAYBE FINALLY WE CAN HAVE A CANADIAN SETTING

House, because he seems to be the only one that knows what's going on; plus, he's immortal.

Legion is a step above tribals.
NCR is just the US before Good Neighbours.
The Courier is a terrible ruler of NV.

That would be because it is the only good ending. Neither Mr House or Independent Vegas actually give a shit about the rest of the world or rebuilding humanity and instead only about the well being of New Vegas. The NCR and The Legion are both intent on rebuilding humanity, one through technology and the other through a Roman style dictatorship.

Humanities best chance of survival lies with the Fallout 3 Brotherhood on one side, the NCR on the other and the Khans/Followers of the Apocalypse to the North as well as the commonwealth.

I'll be fine with any ending but the Legion ending. People who dress as Roman soldiers, use melee weapons when fighting against plasma rifles, and crucify people, are too alien to the Fallout world, and their dominance in it would alienate me from the franchise.

If I have to pick a favorite, it would be the NCR ending. I know that they're flawed, but they're reasonable. Since they existed since the first game (Initially as Shady Sands - a settlement of survivors from Vault 15), their continued existence in the long term makes a lot of sense.

I believe that the NCR ending is good.
While I would love an ending where the Courier was King, I believe that would be too easy for our player character. Besides, that one felt a little bad for some reason.

In my own ending, I got the NCR, but I liked to believe that it was my character who held the reigns of New Vegas. While he was a gold citizen of the NCR, he still held the majority of respect, power, and technological advantage over the NCR. Sure, he won't use that robotic army any time soon, but he is keeping it like an ace in the hole.

Caesar's Hegelian dialectics coming to fruition/the synthesis of NCR and Legion is by far the most interesting/best ending. NCR ending is just delaying the inevitable. House's ending is also interesting but similar in many ways to the NCR ending. Independent New Vegas will not happen; the only reason it was implemented so you had a way to finish the game if you killed all the faction leaders.

In any case it doesn't matter because they're all endemic to the West Coast, at least for the net 50 years, AKA the most likely time the next game will be set. On the East Coast.

Yeah I kind of like this. The NCR just open things up more then the other endings.
