I dont see why not, but some of the fun of Fallout, is the furture-istic 1040s feel to it. But I'd give the game a try if they made the new one in London.

Seeing as I don't care about lore, I'd love to see that place which is near where I live but on a game and such.

As long as it's a decent game... (hellgate london I'm looking at you)

I think its a wonderful idea to have a fallout game set somewhere besides the US. See how the rest of the world is faring and all that.
I've always been intersted in that same question.

Especially China and Russia.

I suspect China is mostly ghoulified..but wouldn't it be horrible if it was only the US that was nuked and no one else?

There was like a cordon keeping people out of the US.

just sayin'

I think that part of the reason that the Fallout formula works so well for America is because back then America had a really... "potent" culture. I'm not really sure that Britain had the same sort of iconic way of life.

Would it work? Yes.

Would it be Fallout? No.

I was having a good think the other day. I live in Manchester, England, and I was in the Trafford Centre, a huge shopping centre. I was walking through the multi-storey car park, with the pillars and gloom, and I was thinking 'God, this would make a brilliant location for a Fallout game.
I know there are still a huge amount of places in the US that they could make a Fallout game, but, disregarding any canon for now, do you think it would work?
you cant say disregard canon when making a game
it wouldn't be fallout just a generic post apocolyptic shooter
so no i don't think it would work

Its already sinking into the ocean as is. I doubt after it was blown to hell and back it would still be above sea level.
I only have limited A-Level Physics and Mechanics knowledge - you probably know more about this sort of thing than I do. But I'm not 100% convinced that a few nuclear explosions would have anywhere near the force required to sink such a large landmass, let alone move it at all...
Well, it wouldent be the bombs itself ((mostly)).
The reason its sinking is because of climate change. And after the bombs drop, the climate change rate would explode through the roof. All pun intended ofcourse.
Then, depending on where the bombs were dropped, the raising water to do the rest, IE, flood all areas that were blown below sealevel. As anyone can tell you, its not the bomb you have to worry about, its the......

Yes, but then again if you started using the underground I'd start feeling like I was playing Metro.

Then again, the more old-fashioned, slightly run down areas of East London would be really cool.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the Fallout Bible say that there is no human life in england due to the lack of vaults and some other shit?

Even if wastelanders or the B.O.S or the Enclave or whatever managed to get a boat, it would be fairly pointless for them to go to England.

It would work, but it won't be made.

Even if it was all the characters would be voiced by Americans anyway.
There would also be no really memorable locations and landmarks, like the Washington Monument.
While areas like that may actually be present, say the Big Ben for example, they wouldn't even have any real significance in game.
They would just be...there.

Anyway, what I mean to say is it would be like a really bad Fallout game in a cheap British disguise.
If it was made by Bethesda...

Personally i would love to play a Fallout game where you see how the rest of the world is faring after the apocalypse. Seems most games or even movies tend to focus on America, and being Canadian i'd like to see other countries as well. China was the "bad guy" in Fallout and would love to see how that country is at the moment, maybe learn a bit of the history and so forth.

i think if they could recreat like all of england ingame it would be great. or atleast all of england scaled down a little.

Fallout doesnt automatically mean american. it means a game world after the world went to shit after a nuke tastic war happened. so im sure that england or surrounding europe got nuked a few times and would make a good setting for a game.

Instead of deserts you have cold rainy weather with snow falling in game if you play long enough. instead of dehydration in hardcore mode you have to change your socks to dry ones or your feet rott away :)
In Fallout 3 it is mentioned that the entire world was hit by a never ending heat wave.
oh i missed that part. well maybe in fallout england the heat wave has ended and its gone back to soggy rainy radioctive ness

I would love to see a game set in any city other that New York, DC, or LA. Anywhere in England or anywhere outside the US in general would be great.
