Hear me out I have a controversial opinion. I really don't think challenge is what makes video games great, yeah for geometry wars et al. Rpg's I always find aren't fun for the challenge the challenge is just irritating in my opinion its the experience the charecters, the story, the decisions. Its why I've always hated multiplayer in most cases. Fallout in my opinion is too great a game to be bogged down in super hard difficulty. Most games gave up on difficulty when they let you change half way through the game. So no i'll play it on factuary settings as such.

I've beaten Fallout 3 three times now, and I've used god mode/infinite ammo for all three. I just couldn't seem to survive without cheating.

I'll try my best to beat New Vegas without the console at all though. xD

Depends on what Hardcore is. If it's just the highest difficulty, likely, yes.

i'm going to play it on hardcore for the second playthrough. i always tend to play games on normal first, let's me concentrate on the story and such more. then i'll go onto harder modes.

Yes, straight off. I want to put myself in a difficult situation, with little prior knowledge of the game.
Pretty much what I was going to say, I want to go into this mode fresh, I don't want to know building layout or enemy types for certain areas.

Right off the bat. With my pre-order bonus from best buy i'll be unstoppable, for about an hour, then i'll run out of grenade rounds.

I will, but only at the point where I've played through New Vegas so many times I already know all the good spots to get weapons, armor, ammo, etc. by memory.

If I want to play on a really hard difficulty, I wanna be prepared.

Yes, on my first play through. It's sounds like it'll be fun!

Fallout 3 on very hard wasn't even that difficult. I'm hoping that I'll find Hardcore mode MUCH more difficult than Fallout 3.

I'll probably do it on my first playthrough, but I'll need to get used to the new inventory system. I was a bit of a packrat in Fallout 3, so I'll have to be more careful.

Defiantly for a second play through I'll try Hardcore, but I'll be making a character with a bloody high melee(SP) score when bullets hold weight XD

I'm going to port a few mods from F3 to NV. AI Range & Cover, body multiplication (head = 40x, chest = 12x, limbs = 0.5x), and modify all weapons to be much more accurate. The effect this had in F3 was I couldn't run into battle with a pistol and beat 40 men. If they had 2 assault weapons I had to seriously judge the ground cover, and if I could retreat. DC itself was a huge amazing fight - one battle I had 2 machine gunners spamming across a square and a rocket-man trying to blow me to bits. 60 assault rifle rounds, 4 sniper, 22 pistol and a dozen reloads.

I don't expect the "hardcore" version to be anything like FWE and will wait until a proper 'hardcore' mod comes out.

Well that's hardly fair, it's not been out that long :p

(By the way, Im one of those guys who liked Fallout 3 more than 1 and 2)

Only after Ive done a playthrough and seen everything it has to offer.

Doing the Fire Ants quest at level 5 on my first playthrough nearly ruined the game for me.

I might in a later playthrough. The best part of Fallout 3 is that it gives you the most immersive post-apocalypse experience you can find, and I guess the whole "water, food, fatigue" thing will make it all much more realistic and quite possibly more immersive. However, it will probably be insanely difficult. Even if you decide to choose "Easy-Hardcore".
