So I've just finished up the last of Fallout: New Vegas's DLC a couple of days ago. So now, I've decided to see what the Escapist's general consensus is on the DLC of this game.

For me, I enjoyed all of them. But if I had to choose my favorite, it would probably be a toss up between Dead Money and Lonesome Road. I'll admit, they were both the most linear of the DLC, but I love the environment and atmosphere of both. Dead Money in particular had a great cast of characters in my opinion.

So what about you guys? Please use spoiler tags if you plan to discuss the story aspects of any of them.

They were all great in their own way and I don't consider any of them to be a waste of money :D

Old World Blues would have to be my favourite just because of how hilarious it is and the fact The Sink is a brilliant base of operations.

Old World Blues was the only really good one, mainly due to the humor but the enemy variety and main story behind it was really good to. Honest Hearts wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about, the only interesting thing in the dlc was Joshua Graham who is probably the most badass character in the whole game. Dead Money was all around terrible and was an absolute pain to go through, and Lonesome Road was short with a pretty weak finish to a storyline that had been so hyped up.

Obviously Old World Blues wins hands down. It was far the biggest and had the most interesting nad fun content. To be honest Dead Money kind of fell flat for me and Honest Hearts felt too short. Lonesome Road was nice and all, but I really, really grew to dislike Ulysses. Having said that I would have loved it if you'd been able to give him this one-liner before killing him:

"Ulysses, don't you know? You're history!"

See what I did there?

Alternatively I would accept being able to take out your laser detonator and use it on the live nuke that's behind him when you meet him in person. I wonder if that actually works...

Dead Money, say what you will about its gameplay but its characters were the best out of all the DLC's, and that's whats important to me.

Dead Money had the best supporting characters and an interesting gameplay (it actually made the gameplay challenging for a Fallout game for once), Old World Blues was OK fun but a bit too silly for me (Even for a Fallout game). Honest Hearts had probably the most interesting sole character in game - Joshua Graham - even though the gameplay sucked (annoying fetch quests, overall tedious). And finally as for Lonesome Road: the gameplay was good, the story was good, but they fucked up Ulysses's character. They tried too hard to make this character interesting, but that gravelly(-to-the-point-of-being-unintelligible) and monotone voice of his annoyed the shit out of me; to the point I straight up killed him the first time around without giving him a fair chance to explain his motives to me at the end.

All in all, if I had to pick one out of all of them, I'd pick Dead Money. I've heard how the gameplay had annoyed some, but I only see that because it tired something different. All in all, it had the best of everything all around.

Oh and Ulysses also talked mostly in metaphors, and he spoke a lot.

-gravelly voice
-monotone
-talks in metaphors
-talks you to death

Yeah... annoying as fuck.
lol

Lonesome Road was undoubtedly my favorite. The atmosphere in that DLC was palpable, and I've had few experiences in games like I did in that DLC.

Ulysses' voice, along with the story that you slowly piece together about delivery, the understanding of the terrors your faction/independence committed in the name of themselves, and your role in it all. A lot of people complained about the linearity, but I think it's better because of it. It focuses you. This is the path you must travel. That's the motif of the entire content - this is your road, walk it or walk away. Face your past. ED-E's existence was a bit arbitrary, but I enjoyed his company.

God, that DLC was so memorable.

Old World Blues was my favorite.... but that isn't saying much.

Lonesome Road, Honest Hearts, and Dead Money, were all disappointments for me.

Ulysses as built up to be such a badass, with a complex past..... but then.... they just made him a whiny 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum that you accidentally blew up his home. Broken Steel at least offered a far more satisfying conclusion.

Honest Hearts was a lesser version of Point Lookout in terms of well...... everything.

And Dead Money had some of the worst gameplay gimmicks I have seen in games in years, and didn't match up to the atmosphere of The Pitt.

Old world blues is the only New vegas DLc that could beat its Fallout 3 counterpart, but thats only because Mothership Zeta was so damn bad.

Lonesome road for sure! You really need to be prepared before you go play that one, and it pays off very well. My favorite armors in the game come from this DLC (Elite riot gear and Ulysses' duster), and it was lots of combat, which was fun. The story and atmosphere was cool and I loved that big open highway filled with stronger deathclaws (which I fun sniping, only used 10 bullets). And that part where you are on top of a huge building and lots of enemies were down below was fun also. I stayed on that roof and did classic rooftop sniping with my favorite silenced sniper rifle that I got from old world blues.

Honest Hearts were my favorite.
Nice looking place and good story, also nice with finding all the journals and recordings of the original "The Father in the Cave".

Maybe it was just because I got that DLC after breaking up with my ex and the backstory and then realising that his wifes and sons name were the same as me and my ex name, not sure.

Still, I liked that the most.

Least favorite was probably Old World Blues. Only thing I liked about it was the whole thing about the name "The Big Empty".

Dead Money was alright. I ended up getting the 1,000 points melee damage from that DLC alone, because I kept running out of ammo. I managed to get all of the gold bars out of the vault and that completely broke the game (well more than it already was).

Honest Hearts was cool. I would have liked more sudtlety before we got ambussed. The main story was a lot shorter than I thought, which meant I finished it before I had time to really explore and do some of the side stuff. I liked the morallity aspect of it, where there was no real right answer (but it didn't have to make you feel bad either way though). All of the xander root I found broke the game (again), because I could make a ton of stimpack to go with my already unlimited supply.

Old World Blues was interesting. I did some exploring in the area, then I did the first mission objective (something about break an antenna) and got kill by robo-scorpions. I never got around to finishing it because I kept getting killed by the robo-scorpions.

Lonesome Road, never got to it, because of the robo-scorpions.

I loved them all, except for Dead Money. Dead Money can fuck off. Seriously man I was glad to get out with one solid gold dead weight. Loved Old World Blues, very funny and the senile Doctor robots were well written and tugged my heart strings a little. Thanks to the folks at HMV who sold me Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition with all DLC (I paid for a second hand normal version), I have all DLC installed. I have yet to try Lonesome Road. Is it any good? I might play it tommorrow

Old World Blues is my favorite but that's just because I liked the strange environment in it. I almost voted for Dead Money though. It has a very unique and spooky ambience and a great support cast. I can't play it too many times though for that reason. I have to be in the mood for games or dlc like that.
