I actually pre-ordered TWO copies of this game for the PC and PS-3 given how I tend to game and where I might be outside of my home when I want to game.
I have a 360 as well, but am more likely to use a PS-3 abroad, and also while not an achievement junky, it also occured to me that I can apparently get achievement points via Games For Windows Live still (if I heard correctly), and Trophies on the PS-3 version.
Of course if I knew about this exclusive DLC about 90 days ago things might have played out differantly.
Apparently Microsoft paid Obsidian for the exclusive content, developers don't favor specific consoles, they work for money. People who wonder "why developers punish fans for buying for the system they want to play on" like some of the responses to the Kotaku article simply do not seem to get it when it comes to the reasons.
The thing is though, that when Microsoft paid for exclusive "Grand Theft Auto IV" content for their console, people were shouting it from the rooftops. I suppose this wasn't a secret, but I have been on message boards for this game on sites like Gamefaqs and this is the first time I've heard about console exclusive content.
I also have to wonder if this content is simply starting exclusive, or if it will migrate to other platforms given enough time, as the GTA IV content eventually did.
Either way, I'm kind of irritated about that news especially seeing as the game comes out in a few hours. The funny thing is that I don't think I'm alone here, and given that this entire stunt was apparently intended to get more people to buy on the 360, it's at least partially failed because they didn't get the information out to the target audience it might have affected (ie people like me).
