Slow zombies, there is nothing scarier (In my mind) tha being holed up in a building, watching the teeming undead hordes battering away at your defenses, knowing that inevitably they will break through. Then in the end staying in a corner as the zombies slowly march toward you, and your ammo supply gets lower and lower you face the inevitability of your own demise, and then in the end the hordes surround you and you have a few seconds to feel yourself being torn to bits. Fast zombies seem to me more like... Oh shit zombs, what do we do what do we do, oh wait we're dead.
So yeah. Slowies have a bit more of a creeping dread feeling to them, while fast zombies are a bit of a blitz.

It's True that slow zombies may have more of a dread feeling. but there alot easyer to get away from.. take (Shaun of the dead) for example. do you think they would have even made it to there car with Say.. (Left4dead) Zombies Running!.. Around? So yer. I go with slow because i would prefer the contents of my skull to stay where they are for the time being.

I never understood how slow zombies are a threat. I mean, unless you trip, or are paralyzed, you could easily walk away, or walk up casually and smash the head in with a baseball bat.

Fast zombies could be a real threat, and I can actually see them overwhelming the world.

Edit: 28 Days Later and Left4Dead are not real zombies since they are not reanimated corpses. That being said, when hordes of them are smashing down the gates trying to feast on my flesh, them being "actual" zombies is the least of my concerns.

zombies=undead.root word "Dead" point:there shouldn't be fast zombies because decomposition and some riger mortus(i know did not spell that right...) would cause a zombie to slow down alot or risk shredding it's muscles.and riger mortus would cause the zombie to be to stiff(pun) to run.so fast zombies shouldn't exist.Exeption:"28 days later"Reason:rabies not zombieism(i didn't spell that right either)

I like the theory in Max Brooks' book. Zombies will only go as fast as humanly possible. The virus isn't an enhancer.

Slow zombies: they're the type of zombies my zombie survival plan is planned upon. Plus they are more realistic.

Zombies aren't zombies if they can think, run or use weapons of any kind. Other than a chainsaw duct-taped to their hands.

I use the Zombie Survival Guide as a... guide when it comes to what a zombie is or isn't. That book is brilliant, and made zombies seem almost real.
Zombies are also more scary when slow. Yeah, a fast zombie can kill you faster, but the psychological terror of a vast shambling horde is so much more terrifying.
But that's just me.
It isn't just you, I completely agree. The overall sense of hopelessness when you see several thousand zombies rambling towards you, the knowledge that you will inevitably become one of them..it's just more horrifying than the adrenalin rush of fast zombies attacking.

Movies should experiment with zombies that push past the norm.

Bicycling Zombies.
Speed walking zombies.
Pogo sticking Zombies.
Sauntering Zombies.
jive walking Zombies.
Rollerskating Zombies.
Parkour Zombies.
Four dimensional Hyper-zombies.
Piggybacking Zombies.

The list goes on.

When I asked the man who wrote the zombie survival guide he said that he prefers slow zombies because fast zombies are annopying and in his eyes not fun. While the guy who wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies said that slow ones are better for comic appeal. I agree wioth the experts(also because I got signed copies). What do you think of thier opinions?
