In the UK, someone over 18 can legally buy alcohol for himself or herself, take it home and then decide to give you some while you're visiting. We're all a bunch of liberal socialists over here, you know. We've got some of those scientist types, too, who've recently reported that we shouldn't do that until you're at least 15.
