I voted for the first Baldur's Gate as it really had a main story I could fall in love with. Mind you this was around 1997 and there wasn't much else out there to deliver such a deep narrative short of the occasional console J-RPG.

It also marked the end of an era for me as it was the last AD&D computer game to bear the TSR logo. Soon after, they verged on bankruptcy and Wizards of the Coast stepped in to see that D&D did not die off forever... instead they rubbed their Magic the Gathering shit all over it.

Personally, I did not enjoy the story in Baldur's Gate II as much , I felt that such a story did not need to continue on pass the end of the first game.

Also, the OP neglected to list Icewind Dale I & II and Planescape Torment on the poll. More Bioware RPG goodness.

Baldur's Gate II is by far my favorite. It was the very first video game I played for more than 20 minutes, and as such will probably always hold a dear place in my heart. I had a blast and I still every so often install it and play through it again.

Its really hard to pick between Mass Effect and KOTOR........oh god I haven't had to make a decision this hard since I had to pick my favorite Star Trek Captain, Kirk and Picard are both awesome. Ohhhhhhh.......Ok KOTOR!!! It was the first Bioware RPG I played, and it got my hooked. After that game I went out and bought pretty much every other Bioware game that they ever made. (This was before Mass Effect), and even now, Knights of the Old Republic is still one of my favorite games of all time, I think I have finished it five times now.

I've only watched my friend play dragon age so I'll wait to say anything about it till I played it myself. so it's between Jade Empire and Mass Effect and seeing how I didn't care for Mass Effect, It's Jade Empire for me. Great Story, fun characters and good combat.

Now that mythic = bioware can I choose Warhammer Online? :D Probably not, eh? Well, then one of the Baldur's Gates... you pick.

Baldur's Gate II - it's really not fair putting anything else in a list with that and then asking me to vote you know.
so true

All the voters who voted for Mass Effect are probably just wee little nippers who werent part of the BG generation :p

Mass Effect, KOTOR was cool for the concept, but the story got a bit cheesy, KOTOR II was the masterwork of the series.
Are you serious? KOTOR 2 couldn't hold a candle to the first one. Maybe if it was complete it would've but the developer (Obsidian) even said they cut a lot out due to time constraints. IMO it just felt so incomplete and chock full of holes.
'

Yeah, but I don't blame Obsidian too much for Lucasarts insisting on a Christmas release. Story was better and made me question every decision, characters were better, and Kreia had such a disturbing plan.
I agree with you on that, they should have put the game back a bit it isn't like gamers don't expect delays *cough* Kingdom Hearts 2 *cough* They should have let Obsidian finish the game!
OT I voted Mass Effect but it was a tough call, Bioware make awesome games and picking one is tough. I have a real soft spot for Jade Empire too.

If it wasn't for KOTOR I never would've sought out Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 or Neverwinter Nights. And I never would've played Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. KOTOR intoduced me to RPGs and the pure epicness that is Bioware. That's why KOTOR has my vote.

If it wasn't for KOTOR, I might've also ended up a, God forbid, FPS fanboy *shivers*

I've long since stated that Baldur's Gate 2 ranks as my number one game of all time. I stand by that, although the more I play Dragon Age, the more I really love it. Still, BG has an edge because its modding community is still active and there are nearly unlimited amounts of content for the game. So...for now it's still BG, though Dragon Age may eclipse it in the future. At the moment, I rank the list as following:

1. BG2
2. Dragon Age
3. Mass Effect
4. BG
5. KOTOR
6. NWN
7. Jade Empire

I've never played their Sonic game, so I can't include it on the list. But I definitely rank BioWare as my favorite developer, and they've yet to make a game I don't like.

I really can't choose between Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect. Both are utterly brilliant. I just bought Dragon Age: Origins on Steam and am downloading it now as well. I'm fully expecting it to be excellent as well.

How Warhammer Online could ever be as good as, well, most of these games baffles me.

For someone who loves RPGs I've never played ANY BioWare game and I feel ashamed now. It's just with the whole Assassin's Creed II whoring I don't have any time for any other games. I really should buy myself a decent RPG to sink some hours into.

Neverwinter Nights easily.

While I've enjoyed (or loved) every BioWare game since the dawn of time, NWN wins out due to its endless replay value. If we were judging solely on "official campaign", it would rank at the bottom, but as an overall package, NOTHING compares to NWN.
