I voted for the first Baldur's Gate as it really had a main story I could fall in love with. Mind you this was around 1997 and there wasn't much else out there to deliver such a deep narrative short of the occasional console J-RPG.
It also marked the end of an era for me as it was the last AD&D computer game to bear the TSR logo. Soon after, they verged on bankruptcy and Wizards of the Coast stepped in to see that D&D did not die off forever... instead they rubbed their Magic the Gathering shit all over it.
Personally, I did not enjoy the story in Baldur's Gate II as much , I felt that such a story did not need to continue on pass the end of the first game.
Also, the OP neglected to list Icewind Dale I & II and Planescape Torment on the poll. More Bioware RPG goodness.
