I remember in CoD4 when I wrecked everyone's shit with my MP5, sadly the K fires faster and is harder to control and is therefore shite, so for MW2 and BO its assault rifles all the way.

(for those wondering, in W@W I favoured the Thompson and when I unlocked it the STG44)

I love it when a camper says STOP N00BTUBING ME JERK!
Its amusing because I'm tubing the Noob for camping!
And there are some areas and situations which are perfectly suited for the Grenade launcher,
Eg, A distant room occupied by 3 guys that is too far away for me to throw a grenade into,
When your in an elevated position,
When an enemy is hiding just behind a distant corner,
ect ect,

But for me, its definitely the Commando, with grenade launcher attachment and rocket launcher to deal with them damn choppers,

Or my really sharp wit!
Or really bad insults!

I'm a knifer, I just love being able to traverse a map quickly (and in MW2's case, silently) and being able to flank an enemy and just take out a bunch of people from behind in a blink of an eye. Absolutely loved the combo of a tactical knife w/pistol, throwing knife (10x better than the freaking tomahawk) and the sniper rifle as primary; offered complete mobility, advantage in close quarters, a quick kill for mid-range opponents, and the ability to take out a long distance target if need be.
In BOps knifing is so-so; too many people have the instinct to jam the knife button if anyone is more than a foot away so knifing isn't as fun because even with the ballistic knife you don't have the same advantage that the tactical knife offered (which is somewhat disappointing since a person running with the knives out can be at a big disadvantage).

RPGs and Assault rifes. II love how RPGs are unguided so it makes it hard to hit targets long-range.

Depends on the mood you catch me in. I like my ACR MasterKey with RPG on back Claymores, Stuns, Scavenger, Stopping Power, Ninja. Blows anything out of the water in Hardcore. Otherwise I like my Mini-Uzi with Marathon, Lightweight, Commando, with Magnum tac knife combo, for the quick kills, or knifing glory.

However, for rooting out campers I'd use an AK47 with 40mm GL, RPG, Semtex, C4 and scavenger. No camper is safe.

Recently this class has been pretty fun to play:

Primary: Olympia
Secondary: Crossbow

Tomahawk, Concussion, Tactical Insertion

Perk 1: Scavenger Pro
Perk 2: Sleight of Hand Pro
Perk 3: Marathon Pro/Ninja Pro

Is ninja worth it? I haven't gone without hacker since the day I started. When I see a claymore glowing across the map I'm drawn to campers like yogi bear to a delicious warm pie. A tactical insertion just in case, and a flashbang to lead the way/disable the claymore without announcing "your equipment has been destroyed, someone is here to ruin your day ". Plus, nothing beats stealing a care package and sabotaging it at the same time, so you can spend the rest of the game twirling your mustache, waiting for someone to pick up the abandoned box.

EDIT: Sorry, that was a legitimate question. I've never used ninja or ninja pro in any modern warfare and I was seriously curious how beneficial it is. Re-reading my post it came across as a little bit, "No, you're wrong...my way is way better." That's not what I meant.

Depends on the game/map.

I've always loved SMGs, but in Black Ops they all just suck, except for the 74u which I refuse to use.
Assault rifles as the most effective, but they're boring to use.
Shotguns are cool, but there's only 1 or 2 that are worth using, (Stakeout and MAYBE spas 12)
Sniping is awesome, but it's just not practical. All the maps have so much CQC, and the snipers have been nerfed a whole lot.
LMGs are fun, but the slow movement speed annoys me. I'm a really aggressive player, and it's hard to be aggressive with an LMG.

So usually I use snipers on more open maps, but not the long range ones like Array. More like Havana.
I use Assault rifles on the big maps, or things like Villa with lots of long passageways.
SMGS/Shotguns I use on close quarters maps like Launch, Nuketown, or even Hanoi.
LMGs I use on medium sized maps like Radiation.

However, I'd like to point out that I really enjoy doing pistol only games, as they require more skill than shotguns/smgs, and you have to play like you have one. It's really fun, and I love it.

You are the reason why Modern Warfare 2 was a terrible game for my friends and I. No joke.

Its a game at the end of the day, I play it to have fun, not to be judged or criticised. I admit, i hate quickscopers since people say they ruin the game. however, they are just having fun ) if treyarch didn't want people to quickscope, they would have removed it.

Anyway, COD black ops is alot more balanced. I have a hard time knifing on there so I never do it anymore. also, quickscoping is harder to do so its a more balanced but less fun game...
