I said alternative, I listen to mainly indie rock and punk rock though it ranges through jazz, swing, country and hip-hop and all subgenres of rock and roll. Never really got into metal though, hardcore yes, metal no.

I don't really see why the majority of The Escapist listens to Metal.
Never really saw the attraction of it as a genre, lots of it these days seems to sacrifice rhythm for melody.

I too have pondered this. It seems that many gamers are listening to metal these days, I don't really understand it but, to each their own I suppose.

There's nothing wrong with Black Metal, I listen to some Black Metal songs myself occasionally. I've once tried to listen to a mixed playlist of anime songs and black metal songs. It was very disturbing. Are you familiar with the band Endstille?

I love most music, but I'd have to go with Metal if only because it turned around my opinion of music (all we had on the radio when I was growing up was country, pop, and light rock, meaning I thought I hated music itself). Also, I'm one of the few people that likes most types of metal too (and no I'm not one of those "This isn't true metal" trolls. There are subcategories for a reason).
