I like Zilla too (though i prefer the 2014 one), but i hated the movie and fucking loved the cartoon. I think the cartoon was awesome ;DSaneAmongInsane said:I'll always love Zilla the most. He had a freaking cartoon, and screw you guys the 1998 movie is plenty watchable. Fine, he's not Godzilla but I wish Toho would use him more to get his Kailua cred up.
Not going to happen, even Toho hated Zilla, which is why they had their Godzilla absolutely destroy Zilla in the span of 10 seconds in Godzilla Final Wars. If they hate Zilla so much as they would go out of their way to publicly shame the monster, I don't think there is going to be much focus on that monster in the future. For Toho, they probably wished Zilla never happened.SaneAmongInsane said:I'll always love Zilla the most. He had a freaking cartoon, and screw you guys the 1998 movie is plenty watchable. Everything I read about the 1998 movie says Toho was involved with it and okayed everything every step of the way, and if they didn't like the monster, why bother keeping it Trademarked?Smolderin said:Not going to happen, even Toho hated Zilla, which is why they had their Godzilla absolutely destroy Zilla in the span of 10 seconds in Godzilla Final Wars. Then they must have had quite the change of heart. From what I have read, they absolutely hated the movie since release. Now as far as Trademarks go, I am no expert on trademarking and copyright, though I am sure it has something to do with having the Zilla property kinda belong to 2 separate parties....That or maybe Toho wants to keep the name Zilla trademarked at least, if not the image.SaneAmongInsane said:Everything I read about the 1998 movie says Toho was involved with it and okayed everything every step of the way, and if they didn't like the monster, why bother keeping it Trademarked?Smolderin said:Not going to happen, even Toho hated Zilla, which is why they had their Godzilla absolutely destroy Zilla in the span of 10 seconds in Godzilla Final Wars. I think it's more of the case the die hard fans hated it so Toho goes "Oh yeah, fuck Zilla! Fuck him up his ass!" while sheepishly swiping under the rug anything they had to do with the movie.Smolderin said:Then they must have had quite the change of heart.
