So, who's your favorite villain, and why?

Personally, I have to go with Freddy.

Even if he has become a bit silly, he still has some of the best kills in the horror industry.

Pinhead. From Hellraiser, he's just so cool and uncaring. Not manic or humorous at all, which I like.

Lord Summersisle from the original Wicker Man. Nothing scarier than a guy willing to sacrifice a cop in a pagan ritual he doesn't believe in just to keep control of an island of rednecks that'll run out of food in a couple of months.

Well, I found it pretty creepy.

I was torn between Freddy and Jason. I eventually went for Jason, through the extemely complex iny-meny-miny-mo method.

Pinhead from Hellraiser, just love the way he speaks and sometimes uses very dry humor.

Personally, Jigsaw from the Saw series. Most horror movie baddies are unstoppible hulking bahemoths who can stand up to any and everything thrown at them. Jigsaw is an old, frale dude dieing of cancer.

I also love how he human he is. In fact, in a deleted scene from Saw 3, he actually starts crying because he realises that no-one will see him as a savior, just a killer.

My favourite is Captain Spaulding, from House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects. This is because of he's really funny & has a wicked sense of humour, which is rare in a horror villain.

Picking a more traditional horror villain from your list I would go for Jason, because he's so awesome (literally), an unstoppable force with the rage of a & hurt child. There's something poetic about his fury which I can empathise with.

Freddy. Killing a near-deaf kid by putting a super hearing aid on him then droping a box of nails to make his head explode just has a certain... Art, to it.

Pity the rest of the movie sucked.

My "favorite" is Hannibal Lecter, why isn't he on the list?
Sorry, my mistake

With so many awesome, it's hard to remember them all, and with only eight slots, fitting them all would be hard.

But yeah, I can't believe I missed Lector and Pinhead.

It's hard not to like the 80's slasher villains for thinning out the gene pool.

Dracula, and Pinhead (I love Hellraiser..."We'll tear your soul apart."
Was quite suprised to see Doug Bradley in an insurance advert in the UK though...
