I pretty much never use anyone other than Garrus, Liara and Tali.

Garrus is the best though, but I like having him and Tali around as they have been with you for everything.

While I have much love for Liara, who is Shepard's love interest through all three games in my "canon" playthrough, my favorite squad member in ME3 ended up being EDI. Her continued evolution as a character from ME2 (and ME1, as it was revealed) was fantastic, and she had one of the most emotional moments in the game aboard the Normandy.

That said, ME3 had a cast as fantastic as ME2's, but also felt more focused and intense.

Gonna have to go with Liara. The scenes with her time capsule project and when she yells at Javik after Thessia cemented her as a great character in my view.

Garrus comes in second, but he lacks her emotional range and comes off as a bit less humanized because of it.
i chose garrus because he did just feel like the "best friend" of sheppard's out of everyone he meets, but liara is a close second (and i mean very close) just because of how much she grows as a character throughout the games, first she is nervous, second she is more confident in herself and by the third she has more confidence than most of the team and is interesting too boot

Garrus was probably my favorite character, but I found myself with EDI more often then not.She has both incinerate and overload. I found that to be incredibly useful. Decoy also helped my Vanguard out by giving enemies something else to shoot at while I flanked them with my shotgun.

Finally! Down with Talimancers!

Garrus finally gets the recognition he deserves. And he deserves it well.

Tali for sure, I was a infiltrator so having her launch that probe and get them out of cover was useful.

Vega doesn't get enough credit here, at least in effectiveness.
While playing as a vanguard we kicked some serious ass together!

For pure utility, Liara is an excellent squad-mate, especially if you are playing a Soldier, Sentinel, or Infiltrator, as her Singularity power locks down enemies en masse, is very fast, and can easily be combined efficiently with Warp Ammo or Throw for serious damage. She may not be excellent at taking down defenses, but she's a crowd-control powerhouse.

However, my favorite squadmate is and will always be Garrus Vakarian. Overload takes out shields like no-one's business, Concussion Blast rips through barriers, and his armor-piercing ammo and sniper rifles/assault rifles make armor trivial. He's also fairly durable without having to rely on defensive powers like EDI and Vega.

There's also the fact that Garrus is the most interesting, dynamic, and nuanced squadmate in ANY of the three games. He gives both a serious look at the situation you're in, but isn't afraid to joke around. He goes through some of the worst experiences of any of the characters in the games, and still manages to stay focused on defeating the reapers. Hell, when I personally had all but given up hope, Garrus kept my spirits up and gave me the confidence to keep fighting. He made me believe that humanity, no, that the galaxy could win this war.

And, he's always stood by my Shepard. He joins up with you on the Citadel because taking down Saren is more important that following procedure. As soon as you come back in the second game, he's one of your first squadmates, and he's spent the last two years fighting the good fight on Omega. Then, for the third game he left you only to help out on Palavin, and immediately and without regrets joins your squad as soon as you meet up with him. My Shepard has been betrayed by the council, by Udina, Cerberus, and more. Old squadmates were either too busy or uninterested in helping Shepard out by the second game, and in the third all the survivors have their own issues and won't help either. To me, only Garrus has felt like a companion who would choose Shepard over anything or anyone else to stand by.

That's all.

Well, Tali doesn't join up with Shepard immediately in the second game, it takes another 15 hours or so, and even then she only joins up because her work for the fleet was over. Liara also does not immediately help, and unless you have the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, she's not even a squadmate in ME2.

Garrus, unlike Tali and Liara, would always choose to stick with Shepard over any other responsibilities.

Really? It genuinely may be that my memory is short, but i felt that there was very little depth or interaction with ANY of the ME3 characters compared to ME1/ME2/other RPGs... just me?

Either ways, definetley garrus, just for the sniper scene.

Liara, almost always had her. Loved her dialogue, and she was great in combat too, very quick cooldowns compared to other squaddies. Kinda surprised that Garrus is raping everyone else on the poll.

Javik man. He is the hugest asshole racist I've ever seen in fiction (Thalmor notwithstanding) and yet he manages to be hilarious and carry some real emotional weight as the true dead end of his civilization.

The Garrus Shep Bro-mance finally doesn't feel forced in ME3, which I appreciated.

All during ME2, I struggled to understand why Garrus was supposed to be my best friend.

I loved Javik just because of the bait and switch Bioware did with the Protheans. We're lead to believe across two games that the Protheans were benevolent stewards of the Galaxy, and it turns out that we were so much better off with the Reapers wiping them out 50,000 years ago.

I like Javik, but my favorite character from ME1 was Wrex, and then Zaeed and Grunt from ME2. So maybe I just like the violent douchebag characters.

I dunno, Tali is the most cute and loveable, EDI is the most interesting seeing how an AI would react in her situation, Garrus is an all round bad ass, and Liara is the one who I think has grown the most throughout the series. I suppose I'm going to have to go with Liara, She's my LI and has grown a significant amount.

Tali, as has been mine since the first Mass Effect. Second is Garrus, and third is Wrex and/or Liara. Honestly though, I don't like Ashley, I only like Kaidan because it was the voice of Carth, so he got nostalgia points for that. I actually liked James Vega. Didn't really understand why everyone seems to hate him so much. Sometimes he's annoying, most of the time though, pretty funny if you ask me, and his banter with Garrus is one of the greatest things in the entire game.

Kaidan without a doubt. I was so happy when he was on my squad again.

Then I got mad when I couldn't have him for more than half the game. But his romance was so great, I can almost completely forgive that.
