Its a simple question, do you like sports, and if so, what is your favorite sport (and team)? As a bonus, who do you think is the best player in that sport's history?
For me, My favorite sport is baseball. There is something about the game that on the surface seems very slow and boring, but once you start watching it, and start to understand it, its really quite exciting in a more subdued way than pretty much any other sport. Also I love how its a game that's constantly fluid, it doesn't matter how many runs you're behind, there's always that chance, no matter how miniscule, that your team can pull out a win. My favorite team is the Seattle Mariners. If you know baseball, you know that the Mariners haven't been very good for the vast majority of its history, but damn it if I don't go into every season excited for the prospect of what the M's might be able to accomplish.
My pick for best player is Ty Cobb. At the very least, he was an very interesting personality, but he also was an amazing player, who who had a lifetime batting average of .367(which for those who don't know is pretty good) and had over 4000 hits in his career, and stole almost 900 bases (which puts him at number three all time). Ty Cobb was what these days we would call a psychopath, one time Cobb climbed into the stands and stomped a heckler senseless, and when the crowd called to him to stop, due to the fact the man had no hands Cobb replayed "I don't care if he has no feel" and continued to stomp on the man. He was a horrible, racist man, who's outlook on life was that the strong should destroy the weak, but he was a damn fine player
For an example of what a dick Ty Cobb was, look at my Avatar, that's him ninja kicking a catcher.
