Poll: favorite type of weapon

Im in love with the snotgun from Unreal tournament (favourite of every UT game, but espicially UT III).

Snotgun = Biorifle

Assault rifles. Mainly because they can be changed so much (scopes,attchments).

Also sniper rifles, I loved the barett .50 Cal on COD4, just sweeping it across their oblivious face as the bullet punches a fist sized hole out the back of their head makes me smile. Perfect compliment for it is the G36C assault rifle. Compact and deadly, keeps the not-so-sneaky knifers away.

SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) is also pretty cool. If your storming a capture point it can lay down suppressing fire like nobody's business.

I'm a fan of the handgun myself. Small, powerful, and practical... I guess unless you're talking about a war setting. In which case I'll have to go with the assault rifle. Though I don't get why you'd accuse them of being inaccurate. I suppose some of them are, like the AK-47, but most modern assault rifles are quite accurate.

My least favorite would have to be the SMG. They are like inaccurate handguns that expend their ammunition too quickly.

Pacifistic thoughts asideI allways seem to do well with smg's. Im a run and gun type of guy, and they seem to fit that annoying bunny-jumpy playstyle quite well.

It's gotta be the Assault Rifle for me - due to both their customisation (scopes, different ammo types, etc), and the fact that they are probably my most used weapon in any game, having saved my ass many times over.

And energy weapon variations FTW!

RPG's (Rocket Propelled Grenades, not Role Playing Games) have to be my favorite, but only in games that have ragdoll effects.

A handgun, because in [example tiem lawl] HL2 Dm you have to make every shot count and fire as quickly as possible, so every kill you get with it is rewarding.
Of course in more realistic games it's next to useless (which is something i don't understand, it fires a bigger and more powerfull round then your standard assault rifle).

Assault Rifles have a nice feel to them I think.
Love the Chinese Assault Rifle on Fallout 3, it's just as well the Mutants use them, so there's always plenty of parts around!
But I guess I like the Shotgun on Left4Dead over the other weapons, plus it's fun to wait till the Zombies are close enough and head shot them xD

Semi-auto sniper rifle.. CoD:WaW Garand with scope says hi.

Also.. BF2 barret was fun, shooting down helicopters and airplanes with a sniper rifle by shooting through the pilot's head.

In any game, no matter what you tell me, I will always take a shotgun. One-handed automatics make up a good sidearm as well.

A fair amount of people have voted and I'm surprised that explosives only is 3%. I like blowing up five enemies at a time with a RPG or grenade.
