British. And which American accent?

There's the southern drawl, the Brooklyn (or Noo Yawk, as some call it), the midwest, the Cali, and about 2000 others.

I have an english accent but it's kind of mid-northern-western. I hate it, it's kind of "dirty". I don't pronounce sharp t's. Anyway I have a certain thing for the southern belle accent... Don't ask me why.

New York is sufferable, but the southern accents like Texan and such make me want to turn missionary, and travel over there to teach the poor natives how to speak English.

I myself have been asked by an Englishman if I was from Liverpool. Being Dutch, I'm still not sure whether to be flattered or insulted.

And a link to youtube [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymRlgDI9IPM] to a guy with a good example of a, rather horrid, Dutch accent. For those who can't really imagine what it sounds like.
I am from the midwest, staying in Texas for a while... my grandparents and I speak normally (From my perspective). The others...

Well, today I heard someone say "all y'all" in a sentence. And they were taken seriously.

British because you have Scottish, Welsh, Irish and the many kinds of English e.g Cockney.

All of that in such a small space.
Irish isn't British. As a Northern Irish person, I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to this. Scottish people aren't happy with being called "British" either, but they don't have as much of an argument against it as Northern Irish people do or especially Republic of Ireland citizens who are an entirely different country and nothing to do with Britain or being "British".

Just saying.

That being said, OP, there are so many different British accents and they're all excellent even if they don't hold a candle to our good wee "Norn Iron" accent :)
This....

Was hoping to see Norn Iron accent pop up somewhere along te line!

Most accents annoy me over a period of time.....different accents annoy me over different lengths of time but I never get tired of hearing our accent!

Irish is the best IMO. Know why? CAUSE SHEAMUS IS BADASS, that's why!

And his theme kicks ass too.

Yeah, Scottish accents. Edinburgh and other softer ones particularly.

Can someone tell me which accent the guy from Freemans Mind has?

The Rhodesians (white zimbabwean) is my favourite. If you have watched Blood Diamond, Leonardo di Caprio's accent from that is Rhodesian

Maybe it's just bias (my first GF was from Texas), but I find most southern-American accents to be quite relaxing. Honestly, I think all accents are nice. So much variety in how people around the world talk. Just makes things more interesting, am I right? I've always loved Irish, thick Russian accents, Dutch (I have a friend from Holland, so maybe more bias), and some African accents are pretty damn cool too.

Edit-"Leeverage." Awesome. :p
