I do love the Malks, but they do tend to get played more on the wacky side than the truly deranged side like they should be. I'm pretty sure that's why they are no longer a major clan in the nWoD.

Malks are the most fun to play, that is they have the best powers, Obfuscate and no disfigurement is great but Dementate is even better. Lots of talky solutions, sneaky abilities and Dominate with better animations. I find it difficult to play any other clan after playing Malkavian. That is why I recommend people play at least on other clan first, just not Nosferatu. The ugly ones are my second favorite clan...just not for beginners Boss.

I prefer the overpowered but fun Tremere. They are the only class I´ve had fun playing actually (note: I haven't finished the game, nor played as a Malkavian, but probably should get around it one day...)

Wow, This is a really hard decision.

Well I voted Brujah because they where the first clan I properly played before I lost all my saves and had to remake them again, I got the furthest with the Brujah PC, and most of my favourite characters in the game are Brujah.

But really, I cant choose a favourite because there is things I like about every playable clan and I have a save file for every clan.

Attention people - Bloodlines is now 5 bucks on Steam. If you don't have it - now is a good time to fix that mistake.

Tremere are my favourite. Malkavians are a ton of fun to play as well mind you, extremely fun, but I also think they're best left for a second playthrough simply because there is so much self-referential humour and 3rd wall breaking fun that you'll only recognize as such IF you've already played the game.

Tremere meanwhile are just all-round solid plus, and this is important, they can make people explode with their mind!

I honestly don't think there is much to say here, so I'll just post this.

Seriously once you go malk you can't play anything else.

That said, it is a shame how fun Malks are in the game but in LARP people play them terribly.

That itself is arguably a misconception. Malkavians aren't truly crazy, they have uncontrollable psychic powers which make them seem insane. Although you could say it's both at the same time.
Also, that is a misconception - not all Malks have oracular powers, In fact very few of them have any. In fact it might just be a combination of the Malkavian Madness Network and Auspex that make it "seem" like they have some greater insight, when they don't.

Or maybe they do, who knows. The Malks themselves aren't exactly the best source of understanding Lunatics.

However, at the very least, they are mad, each and every one of them.

OT: I voted Malkavian. They. Win. The. Game. Like totally own it. It's impossible to compare them to the rest, they are that much cooler.

Second place goes to Nosferatu. Their dialogue is likewise awesome.

Third place is a tie between Tremere and Toreador. The Tremere have Thaumaturgy and the best haven in the game...but Thaumaturgy is only useful up to level 3, the other two powers are still cool and all but the rest of the XP is better spent elsewhere. And Toreador are playing the game on easy mode. Celerity+Auspex totally obliterate any type of danger.[sub]Also Celerity is pretty[/sub]
The general consensus seems to indicate that some Malks can and do have insights into certain things. They don't have control over it, however. Basically means that sometimes they just know, sometimes they don't.

I can't remember what I played. The ginger one with the red shirt.
But Malk seems really cool! Shame I doubt I'm going to play through it again any time soon, I tried it recently and couldn't really re-get into it.
I believe that was a Toreador.

I don't blame you, my first character was a Toreador, and I couldn't really get into it. They're a pretty boring clan if I'm honest.

If you do try the game again, try a Malkavian, they really are a fun clan to play with.
Yeah, the Toraedor don't really fit very well in a game as combat-focused as Bloodlines. Their entire schtick is seduction, glamour, and sex appeal, which works great if your stomping grounds are basically clubs and bars. Not so much when a Sabbat stooge is trying to ash you with a claw hammer in the back alley. And the game is mostly the latter.

My first character was a Toreador as well, both in P&P and in Bloodlines. They definitely don't carry over as well. Nosferatu, on the other hand, are actually more fun to play in Bloodlines than P&P, because of the set story and environments being more conductive to stealth play. A P&P Nosferatu is typically glamoured 100% of the time, making them no different than any other vampire. Cause its really hard to write a Masquerade scenario that doesn't involve humans and public places. Either that, or the Nos has to stay away from all the fun, which is boring.
I wonder if you could play a nosferatu as the cliche' super hacker from spy movies. Have a campaign around robbing some prestigious all vampire staffed bloodbank, Sort of like a vampiric oceans 11.

Dunno, I just imagined some nosferatu in a dank room in front a computer directing the rest of his associates and helping to take down the security from afar.

Tremere, as I love the Thaumaturgy skills. Using Domination to nullify my foes was awesome too.

Man, I really need to get back in the game. My save file got trashed but I've been meaning to go back. It was a wonderful game with lots of intresting things to do.

Lasombra. Rather on par with the Ventrue in their classiness, but not quite as afraid to get their hands dirty if it improves their power. Oh, for Bloodlines? Hrm, then I guess Ventrue is the next best thing.

Is it known whether the Steam version includes the community patching that makes the game actually work?

OT: I favored a Brujah celerity brawler but I'm happy to see Malkavians dominating the poll, I love those crazy bastards.

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the other 80% and say Malk. Playing a Malkavian was just more enjoyable due to the special dialog. The other clans just didn't feel as fun after going Malk.

Never played Bloodlines. Have no real interest in playing it. Lost interest in the concept right around the massive reboot of the game lines. Pissed me off when White Wolf did that.

In the Pen and Paper game, I always played Ventrue. My rare blood weakness tended to be Athletes, Law enforcement, or teachers. I wanted something common enough that feeding was not going to be an issue, -- where can one find a virgin nowadays other than children -- but still not so common that I violated the game rules.

I preferred Werewolf and Mage anyway.

I've got a strong fondness for the Tremere since I first played as one and those OPed disciplines seriously saved my ass more times than I could count. I tried out all the others, one playthrough per clan, and for sheer dialogue I enjoyed the Malkavian, there's something so sadly hilarious about them. For a gameplay challenge I liked playing as the Nosferatu or the Gangrel, though I dislike the Grel's tendency to frenzy. I've even made an entire backstory+fanfic for my Nosferatu character; she's a Cleopatra who...actually never mind. No 1 curr. XD
