In the old days it was Konami and Nintendo, but they've slipped badly over the last few years, especially Konami. I tend to like individual games rather than developers, but if I had to choose one it'd be Bethesda, but closely followed by Team Ninja (Tecmo).

Either Realtime Worlds or Rockstar because Rockstar is like ten minutes away from me and Realtime Worlds are a bit further. I hope to work with one of them after uni.

It's because although there games are popular and fun, the developers per se, are DICKS! They act like they don't need to listen to customers, and that is gonna cost them dearly with MW2. Valve on the other hand is real close to its fanbase. And Relic and Bethesda just plain ole rock!

Of developers active today, I'll have to chose Bay 12 games. Dwarf fortress is awesome.

If not restricted to that, Black isle. Thay made Fallout 1 & 2 and co developed baldur's gate.

Bullfrog. They made the best game ever, Dungeon Keeper 2. They also made the Populous games which were extremly good too. In fact, most of their games were pure gold.

I always have a spot in my heart for Ubisoft. However, I am still a fan of Rockstar, DICE, and especially Valve.
