gba sp because it had everything i wanted in a handheld. it was small, the screen had a backlight, it had alot of good remakes of old games, and it didnt think it had to be innovative and have a touch screen. dont get me wrong i love my ds but the touch screen has ruined alot of games and produced alot of shovelware....god that zelda game was awful...

I don't mean it as if "why the hell would you love it" i mean explain why you do love it so much.

Because it's old, mostly. I remember staring at the 1982 Sears wishbook wishing I had one. Probably just as well I didn't get one as the device was apparently prone to failure.


But it isn't the first cartridge-base handheld game system. That was probably the Microvision [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microvision] in 1979.

The Adventurevision just seemed like it would have had more potential if it had ironed out the hardware bugs that caused them to break down. But that wouldn't be realized until the Game Boy came along seven years later.

But then, Adventurevision isn't a true handheld game system as it was made to rest on a tabletop. I suppose if i count Adventurevision, I should also count the Vectrex [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vectrex] since it was also portable and a car cigarette lighter adapter was available.
