Joss Whedon is brilliant. He's written some of the best television that humanity has to offer, he's created some of the most iconic characters ever and he managed to create shows with feminism embedded into them without making it come off as preachy or damaging the idea of feminism by making it say "YOU HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS TO BE A STRONG WOMAN" which Hollywood seems working hard to do.
But whenever I ask my friends what their favourite Joss Whedon show is we always end up arguing. None of us can decide. They're all equally fantastic. So, my question for you, people of the Escapist, what is your favourite Joss Whedon show?
Please explain why as well, and even if you don't like his work say why.
For me, it's either Buffy or Angel. Whilst the highs of Buffy are much higher then the highs of Angel, the lows are much MUCH lower (*cough*Season7*cough*). Angel was more consistently good and had some of the best characterisation I've ever seen. Wesley's development from a bumbling fool to a confident man is incredible.

The death of Fred and Wesley over on Angel are both heartbreaking and difficult to watch, but they're nothing compared to Joyce's death over on Buffy. The Body is a brutally realistic portrayal of death and I would probably say it's the best episode of television I've ever seen. Every frame of that episode is shocking, disorientating and heartbreaking and you really feel how each of the characters is feeling.
