You see, the prevalence of MLP threads on the Escapist, the amount of MLP avatars and the fact that I respect members of the Escapist community much more then the average internet commentater implies to me that My Little Pony might actually be worth watching but then I see names like Rainbowdash and Pinkie Pie and....I....don't....think.....I....can....do.....it!!!

Yes. Yes they could.

Remember, the show is still a horribly cute cartoon focused on very basic morality lessons and marketed to little girls. If you don't enjoy it, fair enough. But there is definitely a certain factor that transcends age. Not just the simple smarmy chuckle of an adult joke that is thrown in to fly over the childrens heads, but a genuine compellingness that makes even a jaded adult remember that little spark of childish wonder. And in the back of your mind, you just might appreciate the fact that a show aimed at little girls manages to be genuine, not talk down to them, but actually treat them as people with interests beyond the shallow.

Ill tell you for free that if this generation of girls are watching Twilight, and the next generation are watching Twilight Sparkle, I am very optimistic about the future.
