Poll: Favourite RTS series?

So - what's your favourite RTS series?

I'd go with either Homeworld, or Total War.

If you are looking for epic battles you realy have to play Total Annhihilation and its sequel (yes it is a sequel, they just couldn,t call it TA2). plus the game has such a varied number ofteams to play as it barely ever gets boring.

... Also TA has nukes, a lot of nukes!

Dawn of war was awful... although ive heard the new one is very good.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say Populous. I freakin' loved that game.

Total War for me. I just love the strategic style campagin mode and epic size battles.

Total War for me too. Even though it's not purely a RTS. But that is what makes it so great; it's the ultimate mix.
I simply can't wait for Empire!

Age of Empires was my first RTs too but when I went back to it recently I realised how horribly, horribly bad it realy is compared to other RTS, mostly because of the controle system.

And FYI, DoW is epic.

DoW has a limit cap on your troop numbers and as such is severely limited in its epicness. also that makes it awful because it means that the races sre unbalanced.

And Im a Warhammer:40K player and its a very poor portrayal of the universe.

Well the 1st game was release sometime in 1997 right? The 2nd somewhere near....2000? The 3rd in 2006. Ofcourse the controls couldn't match whit Modern RTS's, they were made kinda a long time ago, yet I still find them pretty good.

My favorite(and first) RTS is StarCraft. Kind of surprised it isn't on the list.
