my tactic is to talk to the nurse as if it were a regular day. (...)
That's actually pretty much the same as I do. And if I didn't the nurses would. At my school however. That's what I love about school nurses and such. They know how to handle children. The school nurse would just clean the spot while talking to you. And a little after you would ask "Are you going to take the shot soon?" and they'll tell you they've allready did it. You know. In the end, if your attention is somewhere completely elsewhere, you'll feel nothing at all. And the good nurses practice this if there's someone with a fear of needles

I know lots of people who have fainted and passed out during needles, or just plain hate it
And its usually the bigger stronger people too, which I find hilarious
Yeah, I know right? It was like that in the high school I went to. You know, the biggest bully in tha class would be the biggest wuss when it came to the needles. He would allways freak out, and refuse to take it. Wich is kinda problematic since he's like a big guy, you know. That's what I thought about cpt_Oblivious as well. You know, since he's a big guy with a "I'm goint to kill you" look. I immedietly thought he was going to say that he feared the, like the plague =P
I guess I was wrong. Obviously big people can be perfectly fine with needles as well

My sister, however, faints when she sees blood or when someone has to take her blood for analysis.
I really don't get that. I mean, how can you faint by looking at blood? It's just blood. It's a bit off topic, I know. But it has allways amazed me when people are afreadi of blood. Especially to the extent where they faint. Me on the other hand has allways
loved seeing blood. It just .. It's great =P
Edit: Oh .. I forgot to add my
own two cents.
I've never really had anything against needles. What so ever. Never have I understood what people have against them either. I mean if we're talking about a
huge motherhumper, then I definetely understand. That would scare the shit out of me. But regular needles? Nothing to be afraid of. They're small, and are (usually) only insterted in a short amount of time. And when they're talking a very small sample of blood, they're just pinching a small hole in your skin with a device. I've never understood the fear of needles ..
