It was pretty silly. What was that guy's name? LegendaryGamer or something?Steppin Razor said:Pirate Kitty had this whole... problem with not being able to have a debate without resorting to yelling and screaming. Even when she was proven wrong she stuck to her side and just yelled louder.
And yep, I remember that. One of the stupidest debates to ever have arisen on this site.
I don't think I've had conversation with you, but I'm glad your back. Your calm demeanor I always thought is desperately needed in a lot of threads these days <.<Aylaine said:
Haven't been on this site all that much over the past year. I come and go but don't comment anywhere near as often as I used to. The forums have lost a lot of the draw they once held for me, mostly through a combination of the old, interesting users getting banned or moving on and the drop in overall thread quality I've noticed as a result. There is a serious echo chamber going on around here sometimes.s69-5 said:Wow, I haven't seen you around in a while.
We mustn't frequent the same watering holes anymore.
Sorry, I just felt compelled to mention it.
Not that you necessarily remember me at all, haha!
Something like that. He was an ok enough guy, but his constant mentioning of his paedophilia made me wish I could reach through the computer and strangle him sometimes.Colour-Scientist said:It was pretty silly. What was that guy's name? LegendaryGamer or something?
He said he didn't want to be judged because he was a pedophile but he brought it up in every second post.
WOW, those names take me back lol.poiumty said:Oh well, I lived through such forum Harvests as Furburt, Hubilub and Onyx Oblivion. I'll outlive the current and next ones too.
I remember that avatar. Unfortunately your username's excessive capitalisation means I don't remember it and your pony avatar means you get lumped in with everybody else's pony avatars.TriGGeR_HaPPy said:http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll86/RickyB_photo/F-14FrontOnFav.jpg
Entirely fair enough. The odd capitalisation and underscore combo is simply because this was the second player name I ever came up with, and since then I've just always had that exact capitalisation and underscore wherever I could online...Steppin Razor said:I remember that avatar. I think it's more of just a fun thread remembering past times. People just like to remember and even see old faces.TheDoctor455 said:Umm... I don't really see the point to this.
So some of the older Escapist members drifted away,
LIFE happens. Get over it.
As for the gender threads... umm... I don't really see those as a problem.
You do know you're not REQUIRED to post in every thread in every forum, right?
As for the "gimmick" threads, I'm not sure what you're referring to.
If you're talking about some of the simpler forum games that are popular now,
get over it. Not everyone likes to play a forum game that requires you to memorize
17 different rules or something like that.
I was really shocked to see my name mentioned! Dark Knifer, I totally remember you! didn't you have that System of a Down avatar taken from the Chop Suey music video? Even if that wasn't you I recall the name.Dark Knifer said:I don't think I'm that much of an olde escapist but I do have very fond memories waaaaaay back in the forum games with the tug of war competitions. Tryting to fit in conversation while posting those numbers improved my typing skills immensely. Competition got so intense that I stayed up till 4 in the morning on a school week then went straight back on the site when I got home to repair the damage done by the opposition. Names that stick out from that were Pimppeter2 and I Stomp on Kittens. That was the best waste of time I've ever experienced on the internet
It is really great to go through the nostalgia, even though I didn't speak to many of you.
I have the same question but I'm sure there isn't. Would be great!Mr Ink 5000 said:is there an oldscape user group?
