Pirate Kitty had this whole... problem with not being able to have a debate without resorting to yelling and screaming. Even when she was proven wrong she stuck to her side and just yelled louder.

And yep, I remember that. One of the stupidest debates to ever have arisen on this site.
It was pretty silly. What was that guy's name? LegendaryGamer or something?
He said he didn't want to be judged because he was a pedophile but he brought it up in every second post.

I don't think I've had conversation with you, but I'm glad your back. Your calm demeanor I always thought is desperately needed in a lot of threads these days <.<

I don't think I'm that much of an olde escapist but I do have very fond memories waaaaaay back in the forum games with the tug of war competitions. Tryting to fit in conversation while posting those numbers improved my typing skills immensely. Competition got so intense that I stayed up till 4 in the morning on a school week then went straight back on the site when I got home to repair the damage done by the opposition. Names that stick out from that were Pimppeter2 and I Stomp on Kittens. That was the best waste of time I've ever experienced on the internet :)

It is really great to go through the nostalgia, even though I didn't speak to many of you.

Wow, I haven't seen you around in a while.
We mustn't frequent the same watering holes anymore.

Sorry, I just felt compelled to mention it.
Not that you necessarily remember me at all, haha!
Haven't been on this site all that much over the past year. I come and go but don't comment anywhere near as often as I used to. The forums have lost a lot of the draw they once held for me, mostly through a combination of the old, interesting users getting banned or moving on and the drop in overall thread quality I've noticed as a result. There is a serious echo chamber going on around here sometimes.

Edit
Forgot to mention it before hitting post - I remember a whole load of people. Maybe not off the top of my head, but seeing an avatar or user name is enough to jog my memory. In your case, you're probably the last remaining person that still defends JRPGs against stupid arguments after the rest of us got tired of trying to argue back against things like "hurr all jRpg karakters are whiny emos"

Herp double post because I fail at quoting people.

Something like that. He was an ok enough guy, but his constant mentioning of his paedophilia made me wish I could reach through the computer and strangle him sometimes.

maxthereaper. I'm surprised I wasn't banned when he was around, good thing there's an ignore button.

Oh well, I lived through such forum Harvests as Furburt, Hubilub and Onyx Oblivion. I'll outlive the current and next ones too.
WOW, those names take me back lol.

I'm surprised to find my account is older than many here. Which obviously counts for jack shit, as I rarely post and just lurk. Even when I do start typing something, I get halfway and think "Neither eloquent nor concise, forget it".

Umm... I don't really see the point to this.
So some of the older Escapist members drifted away,
LIFE happens. Get over it.

As for the gender threads... umm... I don't really see those as a problem.
You do know you're not REQUIRED to post in every thread in every forum, right?

As for the "gimmick" threads, I'm not sure what you're referring to.

If you're talking about some of the simpler forum games that are popular now,
get over it. Not everyone likes to play a forum game that requires you to memorize
17 different rules or something like that.

So many names and events brought up in this thread... Makes me happy with nostalgia. ^_^

I started lurking around these parts when Zero Punctuation first started being posted on this site, so I do remember practically everyone and every event mentioned here,
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll86/RickyB_photo/F-14FrontOnFav.jpg

I never really left, I still log on about once every day, posting every now and then within the forums and user groups. Even if I lurk much more nowadays, this is still practically my second home online... That said, if some more quality threads started popping up, especially if they're by the "oldies" I used to know so well, it would certainly get me posting more. :D

I remember that avatar. Unfortunately your username's excessive capitalisation means I don't remember it and your pony avatar means you get lumped in with everybody else's pony avatars.

Well, I didn't make it passed the cut off date. But I didn't join because of the Zynga or 4Chan thing. I just did of my own accord. I didn't even know people would join just to collectively troll a forum. :/

Entirely fair enough. The odd capitalisation and underscore combo is simply because this was the second player name I ever came up with, and since then I've just always had that exact capitalisation and underscore wherever I could online...
As for the avatar, I've been swaying back and forth, thinking about changing it back to the F-14 for quite a few months now. Especially since I'm no good with graphic stuff, it's much easier to convince others to change the static F-14 pic to fit the current holiday/theme/whatever for me as opposed to the current gif, haha.

In fact, especially as I'm procrastinating from further programming/documentation for a project, I may just change it back by the end of tonight. ^_^

As for your name and avatar, I always recognise yours - I'll gladly accept that your name is much easier to remember than mine. XD
That little bobbing-dance in the avatar always hypnotises me for a few seconds, too...
... Make of that what you will.

EDIT: Aaand, changed back. Somehow, just seeing this avatar near my username once more simply feels... comfy. Like a favourite couch at your parent's place, which you haven't sat in since you moved out... :)

I think it's more of just a fun thread remembering past times. People just like to remember and even see old faces.

I guess I could count? I've never been terribly active, I am but a watcher and I have seen the rise and fall of many great escapists and watched many great battles unfold before my eyes.

When was the Pubclub introduced again? I remember the first few weeks of that being very fun for those in it.

I was really shocked to see my name mentioned! Dark Knifer, I totally remember you! didn't you have that System of a Down avatar taken from the Chop Suey music video? Even if that wasn't you I recall the name.

Oh, mighty good times in those old Forum Games :) We played the same ones for the most part!
I totally think I remember that night and the fierce competition in the game. Those games were amazing!
I remember how there was a huge snow storm here and I was out of school for a week so all I did was post on Forum Games the entire week, all day, everyday.
