It is easier to get it this way than to try and track down a reasonably priced copy of the original versions as well, I guess. Unless you're a filthy pirate, obviously.

It would be nice if they changed something in it. Otherwise I see no reason to buy it. I'm sure lots of people won't buy it because they can just emulate it.

Well, it did do a few things right out of the box, like cleaning up the FMVs, making a ton of different resolutions available, and even running on a modern OS right out of the box. Plus, modders on Qhimm are hard at work making mods work on the new release, and already have a character model replacer working.
