I'm not saying there should be one. I'm simply asking an entirely hypothetical question. Don't have a winge about fanboys here please.

I guess you're talking about a remake. You might want to make that clearer in the first post/thread title.

Personally, I believe if Square is going to remake VII, they should go for the gusto and opt for a complete graphical overhaul for the PS3 and 360. I've never had any qualms with the gameplay (I adore the Materia system), but there's no getting around the facts: Those graphics are fugly. There's no excuse to be seeing something that jagged and low-res on a high-def TV in this day and age.

Wouldn't care what console they made it for, as long as it looks like the ps3 tech demo intro that would be nice.

I personally thought that the Materia system was the only redeeming factor for the game. So long, cliche, and long and the fact that getting Aeris' lvl 4 limit was a waste, and long

Make it platform-independent. I m not a fan of exclusives. But if they make a remake, please don't change the fightingsystem. I hate all the running around in FF12.

Why make a remake when you could be using that time/effort to make a new and different game? If you want to play FF7 then play the original.

I completely agree. Although it would be nice if they rereleased the original on Steam or PSN.

A remake really, well it is square so it wouldn't shock me. But game remaking is getting stupid and killing new ideas for a easy buck.

I'd imagine it for the Playstation 3 more than any of the others. Considering that Nintendo hosted all the originals; the rest pretty much sided with Playstation and THEN went on to other consoles. I mean Final Fantasy XIII pretty much speaks for it all.

It shouldn't get a remake. The game doesn't even deserve all the attention it gets.

People actually used Aeris?

She uses Seal Evil in the fight against Reno and Rude and it becomes retardedly easy

I support a DSi port of FFVII.

Would be nice to have the game to play on the go.

They'd have to get rid of the FMVs and replace them with something lighter, though. Like anime-styled cutscenes, much like those in PSO Episode 3 or the GBA Metroids.

Well, if you're interesting in kicking the Midgar Zolom's ass when you're fresh out of Midgar it can be a good idea. >_>

Plus, I like surrounding Cloud with girls. <_<

You forgot the PSP....which would be the prime platform square would remake it on if a PS3 remake wasn't happening. It would not ever come to the DS I can guarantee it. Frankly I think they would ruin it on the DS if they did it the same way FF4 was done. Now FF4 was able to get away with it, it was fine like that but it does not suit to tone or style of 7 at all.

So if they would remake it I would gladly have a PSP version as it just makes more sense and is better suited for FF7. PS3 remake would be pretty and all but I don't think it would work out well. Remake it for the PSP with the same graphics of Crisis Core and maybe tweak the gameplay a bit (while still keeping the spirit of the game) and we could have ourselves a mighty fine remake.

I left out the PSP for a reason. And that is circulation. The PSP is probably the least likely candidate for the remake purely do to an under abundance of them in the public domain. I know only one person with a PSP, and he doesn't really like it that much. I do, however agree that if it were to be a console release, exclusivity would be a mistake. Download would be a good idea, provided it wasn't only for PSN.

Don't remake it. Bring it over to the PSN, Xbox Live or Steam but don't remake it.

I don't like the game anyway. I prefer IX.

Agreed, just like films there isn't that much need to remake games that are perfectly fine already, just port them and make them cheap downloads. I would like to see all the PS era FF's on Live, IX was excellent, with the least whiny FF protagonist ever. Zidane Rulez etc etc etc.

A remake is highly anticipated and desired. Although it came out on the PSX I think a 360 and PS3 remake would be in order, most people that have any gaming experience have played it and to deprive them of a remake would just be uncalled for regardless of their console, except the Wii, because it wouldn't show it as good as it could be.

squall didn't moan, he sighed but he didn't moan, 7 and 8 are the only two for me
